My son has a T-mobile locked Oneplus 7T that was bought from ebay couple of months ago. I then inserted the T-mobile SIM into that phone and requested permanent unlock in the Setting. It was approved immediately.
So far T-mobile is the most friendly carrier to unlock a phone.
We have a Magenta plan. But apparently, It's not 5G eligible and thus T-Mobile won't let us activate. But the magenta IS 5G enabled, so an associate then told us that, since we don't have at least one or two devices already on the plan with 5G, we can't do this promo.
Hope that helps someone else
EDIT: T-Mobile said the above is false and to call Best Buy. Talked with a few Best Buy people over the phone. They said the only reason they can think of would be because I have an old version of the Magenta plan that doesn't have 5G enabled. And I would have to upgrade. So I'll be checking with T-Mobile later

Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now.
Trying to setup a new account with T-Mobile through Best Buy
Tried different browser, clearing cache etc, incognito mode ... nothing works. Keep getting the same error.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue?
I was the one who did not lucked out as I was about the pay online orders, the carts showed less tax, but would not allow me to order.
I then wait for few hrs, then system allowed me to order for later pick up, but the tax went back for Cali normal.
Yes, BB taxing system is probably having issue
One SD here suggested I go into the store and try, which I have not done so.
As much as the next SDer who would like to save on the tax, I am not going to sweat it as this type of deal is hard to come by with good trade in value, and no future pmt/credit/contract.
Plus I got to use PP for payment method online which would gives 5% CB, and the UR points are worth lots in my lifestyle.
