You're referencing the T-Mobile deal? There is indeed a standard process by which the line level credits are migrated to account level credits so that you can continue to receive them on a monthly basis.

I just got one with upgrade on current line. Do I have to activate the line on the new phone with the new sim card they gave me or I can just use it on other carrier out of the box?

I'll share my experience: non-T-Mobile user, have been on Tello mvno with older iphones
I ordered 2x Totalwireless mini12s
I signed up for a BYOD T-Mobile account online, but still waiting on the sim for a week!
So I went to T-Mobile and gave my SSN again to signup for the $20 text and talk plan. Told the dealer I had the order online but didn't want to wait, he waived the $30 store activation fee
I could not order through Best Buy with my new number and last 4 SSN, but using 1111 for my new account last 4 SSN worked!
Picked up an AT&T SIM at the Apple store, explained that my wife had connectivity problems and support recommended a new sim. No problem.
Ordered and picked up the 2x mini13s from Best Buy. Surprised how quickly and little inspection they took the trade-ins, maybe 5mins in store.
At Best Buy I also bought 2x Mint 10gb for $60 with the 6 mo promo, separate transaction after putting the 13s in my trunk and reentering
1st activated within a minute from AT&T unlock
2nd I entered the next request within a minute or so and has been >48hr for the unlock. Received an automated email from att "We're doing a bit more research on your eligibility". I'll hang tight, thanks for all the steps!

Is ATT catching up on sudden spike in unlock requests? Hope the unlock process still works, waiting for my promax stock!

Easy unlock today for iphone 13 mini with AT&T sim card activation and unlock portal.

Online order pickup was easy, no charge for sim card attached to box with pickup tag.

You can get the $20 Talk & Text plan at a TM store or on TM's website through their chat - it's not listed on the website. They waive the setup fee and ship by 2 day express.

Make sure you get the postpaid plan, a prepaid plan won't work for this deal.

I thought some people can upgrade (trade in) more than once on same $20 unl talk/text postpaid line?

works on Any US phone carry Sim card, will lock to first sim card carry network
