I picked up two of these earlier this year when they were the same price. I used to use a G500, so this fits my hand perfectly.

My only gripes are:
- as a hardpad user, I need replacement feet and they aren't cheap/aftermarket ones don't have the O shaped feet
- logitech setpoint/gaming software doesn't do a damn thing to program the DPI settings, it's stuck with presets
**edit** Just installed Logitech Gaming Software on my new PC - works fine.

Walk into BB and palm one, because for $20 you can't really beat this if it fits your hand

Palm one in the store, I feel like the 518 is slightly sleeker or lower than the G500. Corsair's larger mice also fit my hand very well. But again, for $20 this mouse is about as good as it gets.

I have 5 of these out "in-the-wild" right now...
At my desk in the office, at my desk at home, at my gaming PC at home, at my friend's house where I take my PC to game periodically, and in my "go bag" of backup gear.

For 20$ it's definitely worth it...last time I grabbed 2 from a Woot deal they were $30 i think. I have larger hands and use an elevated claw-type grip and can use these for hours and hours without tiring - legit will use it 8-9 hours at work, then play games for 6-8 hours and have practically no fatigue.

The newer ones don't have the O-shaped feet. They come with 3 pads, two large nearly half-circle ones (at the front and the back) and a smaller oblong one near the thumb. I wasn't sure if I'd like them, but they still slide well on both rollable pads as well as hard ones (or direct to office desktops). I haven't tried on slower surfaces, but I've never used those.

what a classic. my daughter has some POS mouse and was asking for something better. i can't wait to share my teenage years with her in the form of this mouse. I went through almost 5-6 G5/G500s in 10 years.

Thanks guys, ill try it out. Have larger hands too and dont love my corsair, will try this and maybe buy after I try out.

Any good mouse pad options? I do game, dont need a giant gamer pad or anything but nice middle ground option

My original mx518 last me almost 10 years.. around year seven kept having issues with the cord shorting out on the electrical contact inside the mouse, but 10 minutes to take apart, clean, and re solder the joints fixed that. Eventually the sensor itself went out and it was just easier to buy a new mouse.
Very comfortable form factor in my opinion, and it was the standard I used to compare future mice. 👍🖱️

Edit: if you buy two of these you can get free shipping and save yourself the time and trouble of going to a brick and mortar.

Similar experience, but it was my scroll wheel going bananas. popped it open, cleaned everything up with some alcohol...worked fine for another 3 years before she just died. unreal to get over a decade from a mouse with heavy use.

I tried G Hub and it is the worst mouse software ever. Unintuitive, less functional, and frustrating to use. Each new software they come out with is worst than the one before it.

After reading this, I realized that I hadn't attempted to install LGS on my new PC (5900x/3070). I was wrong, the software works on my PC and it must've been an issue with my laptop. Thank you for the comment!

I liked the one I had, but like many Logitech product in the last decade, it barely lasted a year before having issues.
