Crazy they still manufacture this. I recently threw one of these away recently with the EXACT SAME form factor and naming convention and I the manufacture date was either 1992 or 1995.

Maybe it's that new "air gap" protection. Instead of using 1 cable to connect 2 devices, you use 2 cables and don't connect them in the middle. Smilie

My house had a power surge a couple days ago and all of my computers were protected by these. (My mom had purchased these in the late 90s early 2000s for her office) after the power surge these protectors did protect the device connected to them but also legit BURNED themselves out. When I came home, I smelt plastic burning, and after airing out the house, found out it was these power surges. I assum it's due to the lowc Joule rating and the age of the surge protectors. They all don't work now but they successfully protected all my devices though so that's nice!

Probably why the list price is $43. That probably right 10-15 years ago.

Agreed! I think $14.99 is still high side for the really low protection. (I think it would be priced about right between $5-10)

I got a bunch of these in my home when my company's local call center closed down like 15 years ago. The transformer outside my home got hit by lightning like 5-6 years ago and blew out all these surge protectors, but none of my appliances or computers were damaged. Tossed them out and was back up and running... I hope the build quality is just as good now as it was then... (In for a few)
