Not very heavy duty if only rated at 15 amps

Too weak for 8 outlets IMO
Clearly neither of you understand US electricity. US plugs are 110-120V and 15 amps.

Not too thrilled with this Power Strip. The USB charging ports gave out after just a few months, and the power switch feels flimsy.

The thing to bear in mind is the 'heavy duty' aspect - it's talking about physical construction, not the amount of power it is intended to serve up.

Most US outlets are 120V with 15 or 20 A breakers (15 being the more common). Even at 20A, you're talking about 16A continuous max so 1920W. The breaker on this unit is rated at 15A so you're supposed to stay under 12A continuous, which is why it's using 14 gauge wiring for the plug.

Good for getting kicked around in a workshop environment or a garage, but I'm not sure I'd want the metal casing for typical household use, where it might end up scratching floors, walls or desktops. Since in those instances it's unlikely to need to be rugged in any way, and the power limitations are the same as your typical surge protected power strip, it would be overkill.

$19.98 at Sams Club if they have them in stock. Looks like only one in my city has them. Would like a 20 amp one also. I think the only 15amp breakers in my house are for the recessed lights.

Wow that's weird that my plugs are all 20 amp, must've been imported from Europe or something

" 20A outlets are used to operate appliances and devices that have higher power requirements. That includes items that work in the kitchen and laundry room, such as dishwashers and washing machines. "

I'm sure all the plugs in your home are for high power equipment. /s

Yup it's pretty common to run 12 amp romex and put in 20 amp outlets as long as you're using 20A breakers, cost is a couple hundred bucks for a whole house and you can run almost anything (big ac unit, power tools) on any outlet.
