Test it before use it.. bought 2 micro SD from Amazon a year ago, both are fake.. almost lost all my photos..
THIS. SD cards is the only thing I would never buy from Amazon. You might get a good one, you might not. Why not buy from a store you KNOW you will get a legit card, even if it's an extra $1 or $2? The risk isn't worth the tiny savings.

I never thought Amazon would sell fake micro SD. It was sold and ship directly from Amazon...

Their inventory gets all mixed up. So officially "Sold by Amazon" but it comes from someone else.. Unless they've fixed this issue finally, it's been going on a long time. Not worth the risk.

For anyone still unconvinced: Is the data you're putting on it, valuable or otherwise retrievable? Then sure, take a risk.

So I ended up purchasing the 256 GB version of this card off Amazon and am only getting read/write speeds of 95/80 MB/s. I don't know whether these are fake... so I ended up ordering the same card from Samsung website since they're on sale there for the same price. The card arrives Saturday, so we will find out this Saturday whether I got a fake or not. Right now I'm a bit disappointed with Amazon/this card.

Anyone know the difference between this and the Sandisk Extreme? They both have U3, A2, and V30. I would like to use the card for DJI 4K video.
U3 and V30 just mean it can sustain at least 30MB/s, with V30 being a spec for video devices. Your manual should mention what bitrate and/or what "V" spec is needed for the video. I believe 30MB/s is usually sufficient for most consumer 4K recording, though it depends on what compression is being used.

UHS-I technically maxes out at a theoretical 104MB/s. I was getting similar speeds as you with my older green/red Samsungs. Sandisk and now Samsung have found a way to increase the speed of the UHS-I bus, but may need a special/newer SD card reader to exploit it.

Don't forget to test the capacity, since that's where fake cards will really bite you.

So my Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 2 has a UHS-II sd card reader so I should be getting the full speed. Unless the SD card adapter that was provided with this card is UHS-I rated. Looking forward to what the Samsung.com card clocks in at.

This is a UHS-I card. You can only achieve faster speeds than 90-95 MBps with Samsung's special proprietary card reader.

As it says on Amazon "²Stated performance is achieved by using EVO Plus microSD cards with Samsung readers."

Yeah you are totally correct. I assumed it was UHS-II based on the advertised speeds... But it clearly says UHS-I on the card. Damn that sucks. There literally is no benefit to the newest generation. In fact, my older gen green card clocks in slightly faster at 95/90 MB/s. Pretty disappointed.

I'm confused... this looks to be a $1 discount on the regular price? That doesn't seem noteworthy.
You forgot the penny, 100 pennies equals a dollar, every penny counts.

I'd rather spend a few dollars and get a 256.

My garmin dash cam always says "the memory card is slowing down" and tells me to format it again with this sd card. Maybe this card not good for dash cams?

Buy SD cards locally, from a store that sells them in a blister pack. They are counterfeited in huge quantities and amazon is a warehouse for selling counterfeit goods.

For dash cams you want Samsung's Endurance line.

I would buy straight from the Samsung website or Best Buy.

Only $1 off plus the risk of getting another fake on Amazon. I'm going to pass on this one. Thanks anyway.
