FYI this deal is hackable. If you don't need either the tool or battery kit you can select in store pickup for the one you want and ship to home for the one you don't.

After you place the order you can cancel the ship to home through the home depot website and you get your tool for whatever price it shows.

The router comes out to $99.50 if you hack it

Is there a way I can make the hack work through shipping them both to home and just cancelling one?

Or can you ship the tool to home and batteries at the store and cancel the instore pick up? Closest HD is about 40 miles away and would prefer to just have the tool shipped to me.

Send the unwanted product to store or configure as store pickup. Call them later - after product shipped and/or product received - and cancel the product in store vs. doing "quick cancel"

Is the circular saw FlexVolt Advantage DCS573B better or worse than the Makita kit that's also hackable for $151 ? The Makita came with 2 X 5Ah battery and charger for only about $50 more.

You can simply not pick up the batteries in store and after a week, it will be returned to stock and refunded. But, that lets them hold onto your money for a week, if that matters.

So I picked up 2 deals sets in store, and had one shipped to me. The one that shipped to me had the low-profile 4 ah battery. The ones I picked up in store were the large profile.

You don't want that hammer drill, a large portion are defective right out of the box. Look up reviews if you don't believe me.

Interesting. The one I got in the store was the large 4Ah battery as well. I might try placing an order to be shipped to try to get the compact one.

Did the one that you got with the compact battery have a picture of the compact battery on the outside of the box? The one I got with the large battery definitely shows the large battery on the box. If the ones with the compact battery show the compact battery on the box then it will make it easy to identify the battery without having to open the box.

It might even be possible to go through the store inventory on the shelf to find a compact battery if they have some of each in store.

Yes. I ordered 3 free tools w battery starter kit. 3 separate orders on same account. Successfully cancelled 2 batteries. Third timed out and will ship to house. Delay at counter while picking up tool. I will just return batteries upon arrival at house. It is important to cancel undesired item ASAP after picking up first item. Did this all while at Home Depot parking lot. Good luck.
