I just picked one.
Latest tests:
Just using the HDMI output I was able to get 120Hz out from this laptop, while the BestBuy only does 60Hz.
This laptop has HDMI 2, whereas BestBuy only has HDMI 1.4
This is my opinion is also a big plus in Target laptop's favor :-)
Both USB type A connections are FAST type, whereas for BestBuy one is FAST, the other is slow.
It's a great laptop. Relatively decent specs, 8gb RAM, backlit KB (3 levels) 15 inch screen (decent size for many users), well lit, numpad keys, fingerprint reader, relatively light weight, to name a few.
I researched a lot … looked at options from Costco, WM, BestBuy, bought those and returned those, but this, in my opinion is the 'best'.
It gets charged pretty fast - from 5% charge to 85% in around 40-45mins
No running fan speed.
Fast WiFi (this is a big surprise for me) - I got approx 450mbps download speed on a 1 Gbps ATT fiber. For comparison I compared it with the i5 BestBuy Lenovo Laptop. The Lenovo gave me only 300-325mbps speeds.
Connected directly using LAN adaptor and got 922.39 Download and 899.58 Upload speeds from both USB slots, whereas BestBuy gave FAST internet speed ONLY in one USB slot :-)
Compared this and BestBuy laptops:
For this laptop:
CPUScore : 8.9
D3DScore : 9.9
DiskScore : 8.2
GraphicsScore : 8
MemoryScore : 8.9
TimeTaken : MostRecentAssessment
WinSATAssessmentState : 1
WinSPRLevel : 8

For BestBuy Lenovo laptop:
CPUScore : 9
D3DScore : 9.9
DiskScore : 9.05
GraphicsScore : 8
MemoryScore : 9
TimeTaken : MostRecentAssessment
WinSATAssessmentState : 1
WinSPRLevel : 8

The BestBuy laptop is a bit higher only on DiskScore but then the former is waay more expensive as well!
Also I was not able to install WSL/Ubuntu on BestBuy but on Target, installation of WSL/Ubuntu was a charm :-)
Next I will try to install Win 11 and PopOs (Linux). Will update.
Would highly recommend this. I am happy to recommend this - out of my research and experience.
This quad core CPU i-series CPU (vs. an Atom-based quad core like those you see in Chromebooks) should ensure that this system remains relevant and provides good performance for value for years to come. Typically the right price for this kind of PC would be in the $400-500 space, so the price here represents a good value. In fact, one of the jokes in the thread above was how many users might disregard a PC with this CPU as "just another i3, move on!"
Good luck!
Jon

This is a fine battery size for this laptop, just nothing to brag about.
Good luck!

How is the fan noise? I had to return two different HP's because of the awful fan noises.
Thanks.

and linux install fine?
Has anyone installed windows 11 on it yet? Do we have to first turn S mode off before installing 11? Planning to do that today.
Costco (w/shipping) [costco.com]-$359.96 + tax
Best Buy [bestbuy.com]-$329.99 + tax
Is the processor on the BB one better?
Assuming size doesn't matter, is it worth the extra money to get the Costco one for the extra year of warranty?

The one from BB has the slower 2-core i3-1115G4 CPU and no backlit keyboard
Is it 30 days or 30 days past Christmas?
