Ridgid also has lifetime service. Just register the warranty, and if you have any issues you're supposed to be able to get it to a nearby service center and get it repaired for free.
Individual batteries are now covered. You can get service at most Home Depot rental centers. I haven't had to physically mail in a receipt in well over a decade. Uploading/emails work just fine.
How about you leave the Ridgid commentary to people that actually have personal experience with Ridgid rather than spreading rumors and misinformation?

1. Batteries only have LSA if you purchase them in a kit. If you purchase them separately then they do not have a LSA.
2. You will either need to drive to a service station or pay for shipping to have your broken tool diagnosed. For some larger tools the shipping is cost prohibitive.
3. You are correct about needing to register your tool. With Milwaukee they go by the tool's serial number (which includes the manufacturer date) so there's no need to register the tool. This is also what makes used Milwaukee tools hold their value better as the warranty transfers to the new owner as long as it is within the warranty period (3 years from warranty date or 5 years if you have registered and/or have the receipt).
4. To register your tool I believe you need to mail in a copy of your receipt if RIDGID cannot cross reference your receipt (which I've ready occurs readily).
Other's have reported that after registering their tool on the RIDGID site their account mysteriously is deleted and their information is lost.

Lots of bad information here. Milwaukee and Ridgid are the same company. Both are good tools. And for the batterys, just look at the picture below.

When I hit the sand/snow/ mountains for off-roading, I air down to 10-15psi. Takes about 3 min per tire to get back up to 30psi. Have used it to completely reinflate my 33x12.5x15 tires after a nail puncture - and plug repair. Took about 6 minutes
Used for bike tires, topping off paddle boards, basketballs, pool inflatables. etc...
I say it's a must have, and at this price, a no brainer
Not only was the PSI accurate from what I dialed in on the tool, to what actually went into the tire, I only used 1 bar/light's worth of juice on my 4ah battery.
I did have to let it sit after I aired up two tires back to back (~27 PSI to 34), the hose got pretty hot, but once it cooled off it was back in action for the remaining two.

So, you just set the pressure you want, squeeze the trigger, and let it go.
No more squatting and having to keep an eye on a pressure guage, stopping the pump to get a pressure reading, And no more worries about over-inflating.or wasting time having to air back down after going past the recommended pressure.
Ridgid also has lifetime service. Just register the warranty, and if you have any issues you're supposed to be able to get it to a nearby service center and get it repaired for free.
If you're interested in keeping a pump in your car in case of emergencies it's better to go with a more reputable car pump like VIAIR.

Regarding RIDGID LSA working with batteries please see the following which is noted on the RIGID LSA page:
3-Year Limited Warranty
RIDGID® Brand Hand Held Power Tools, select Stationary Power Tools, and Pneumatic Tools are automatically covered under a 3-year Limited Warranty. This 3-Year Limited Warranty begins from the date of purchase shown by a valid receipt. If a valid receipt is not available, the 3 year limited warranty period begins from the date of manufacture on originally purchased equipment. For batteries and chargers, if the receipt is not available, and the battery/charger serial code differs from tool console more than 12 weeks, the origin of the battery/charger cannot be verified. In this case, the tool serial code must be used to verify warranty, NOT the battery/charger serial code. Note that all accessory batteries and chargers sold separately must have a valid receipt to verify warranty status since they are not sold with a tool console in a kit.
Lifetime Service Agreement
The original purchaser of an eligible product may elect to register for a free Lifetime Service Agreement. Other information that is posted is correct to my knowledge.
If not, please state what is incorrect and how. Also, I didn't know that you can only receive LSA on RIDGID tools if it is purchased from HD which limits your ability to score deals on RIDGID tools from other sources as you will no longer have a LSA with the tool. Finally RIDGID LSAs are non-transferrable.
BTW, I think it's pretty short-sited to suggest that individuals shouldn't discuss RIDGID tools here if they don't own them. This is after all a discussion forum.
The cost of RIDGID power tools vs. other tools like DeWalt, Milwaukee and Makita are similar (especially if you get them on sale). RIDGID tools are generally classified as a tier below pro level (consumer level) which may be fine for many but they are inferior in terms of their craftsmanship. Just because TTi makes both RIDGID and Milwaukee does not mean that they are equivalent in terms of quality.

What a bunch of BS. Some people may need a bigger better inflator, some people may need 200 power tools in their garage. For most of us, this inflator will do a good job. You can copy and paste all the BS you want to, it does not change the fact that Ridgid sent me 4 new batteries last year, free of charge. Ridgid is in, smithmal is out.

These are a time saver at the race track/autocross course when you need to air up your cooled down tires for the drive home. Being cordless and having a quick release valve stem gets you in and out quick. Just set the pressure, attach and let it pump away.
