Check your AMEX offers, I just had a $25 off $250 pop up for Best Buy.
The Best Buy Amex offer wasn't there when I checked a few hours ago, but it is now, so apparently the Amex offer didn't get added until it actually became November 1st in each time zone.

Wish I saw this sooner.. had a BB 10% Off coupon expire a few hours ago. Guess I'll hold the line for a better deal.
The 10% off coupon expired as soon as it turned November 1st at BB (Central time) which is exactly when this deal started, so (by design) they were non-overlapping deals.

Can this be used with Synology NAS?
I've used these in a DS918 and a DS2419 with zero issues.

Not exactly that straightforward if OP is using unRAID and looking to save some cash or more flexibility. If they get a 12tb then they could get away with buying 1 drive for their array. A 14tb would require them to buy 2; one for the array and one for the parity as the 14tb would now be their largest drive. That's at least the thing holding me back waiting for the 12tb to go on sale.

Edit: Damn! Nevermind! I think I saw a response above from you or OP and it sounds like you can always buy 1 of these and use it as a parity and move an existing 12 to the array or put the 14tb in the array and it'll temporarily max at 12tb until the parity is upgraded to 14tb.

It's a good drive, and the price is decent. Remember, just about EVERYTHING has gone up since the pandemic started, so don't compare to two years ago when supplies were more than plentiful.

Thanks OP, Google is cutting off my free university unlimited cloud storage and I need to pull a lot of files, pictures, whole computer backups out of Google drive, can't risk BF supply chain issues.

Not to mention they clearly state they will match any price changes through the holiday unless of course you're shucking them. Honestly with all the shortages this year I was thinking we might not see this deal this year. You can't beat this deal. This is a no-brainer. If you find something better take it back.
Why would shucking them matter for the price match? They will just pay you the difference they don't take the drive back.

grabbed one, thanks OP. got to use a bunch of gift cards too, so that's a plus. 14gb was more than I need, but it's a good deal and I'll eventually use it.

on a side note, does anyone know of a super cheap USB NAS? something like a USB-to-Ethernet (or WiFi) adapter. the parts to make one are probably like $5 (could probably do it with an ESP8266 or ESP32), but I've not seen any...
Raspberry pi 4 has USB 3 and you can install something like openmediavault on it.
Or look into other SBCs something like pine64

I bought two. Planning on shucking one into my main PC and keeping the second one in the fireproof safe and doing weekly backups with it on the one in the PC, sort of like offsite storage. Does anyone else do this?

The 16TB will likely be on sale for better per TB deal next. This is their usual strategy. However, I am not going to take the chance and ordered one first.

Is this more or just as reliable as the one in the Costco deal? https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/15350722 (I am aware that's almost half the capacity, just concerned about reliability and performance)
