What's the advantage of a NAS over a windows PC as a Plex server?
My former PC server burned a couple hundred watts at idle, up to about 500 W during heavy transcoding.

My 5-bay NAS with hardware transcode has a power brick rated for 40 W. That means with all 5 drives cranking away, multiple 4K HDR streams transcoding, new files downloading, etc all at the same time, the most it can EVER burn is 40 W.

That's quite the energy savings. (and a lot less waste heat being dumped into your house-- not to mention the fan noise for cooling is incomparable.)

I think this will be their BF price for this particular model. I was holding off until now, but could not resist anymore. Thanks OP!
Yah if I recall, last 2 years during BF... BB sold these drives a month ahead of BF at the price they had for BF.

Best way to get 1 drive is to get 15% credit for recycled storage and pay for the drive using a BB gift card purchased with the 10% off virtual Visa from last week or Chase 10% offer.

Should be $153.
Mind posting a link to any info about the recycled storage? If that's reproducible and not limited to 1, I am absolutely gonna drive to BB tonight to load up 4 if they'll let me. TIA!

Also, another request here for peeps to post whats inside after shucking. Assuming white label CMR but would love to confirm if possible.

Now this is a good deal. Unfortunately, I am targetting 10TB drives. (I would like 3 of them.) This just a bit outside my budget, but hopefully it's good news for future.

Limit one per household. Bring a friend. I assume they take your id.

So I have a 10% in store coupon from jump drive trade in deal. Should I reserve one of these at full price and do a return - rebuy w coupon if it drops lower? Just worried it won't drop or if it does, it won't be in stock in store.
Are they still doing that flash drive trade in coupon?

EDIT: Yes they are, apparently if the employee is having trouble locating it on their system, tell them to look under the "Recycle" section and not the "e-waste" section.

Damn, I do have a Netapp 24-bay disk shelf that needs to be filled and an empty Best Buy card that shouldn't be... damn this is tempting.

Snagged one. Better to grab it at the price and return later if there is a better price.
