Is this like an updated G602?

*Thanks rs1998, Khall187, and s0m3b0d3.
I think I'll cherish my G602's for the time being and wait for an updated model or just get more G602 refurbs when I need them.

That's what it looks like via the description. Reviews seem to be trashing the new software and buttons though.

I HATE THE NEW SOFTWARE! I have a dozen profiles (and tons of time) in the G602 software. My profiles will NOT transfer to this new software. The import process fails every time. Both support tickets I submitted resulted in "best to just redo your profiles". No.

Tldr: if you have G602 profiles that you want to import, don't do it.

I had the G602 and it was broken after 2 years. Logi sent me a G604 for replacement and it feels bad. More plastic feeling, not as heavy as 602, and lower battery life. The only good thing is 604 supports Bluetooth.

I use this everyday in the music production world. All the buttons can map to shortcuts for Pro Tools and Logic. Such a big time saver

This is great for a desktop gaming / laptop setup. You can connect to the gaming rig with the ultra low latency wireless dongle and bluetooth to the laptop. Quick switch button is right on top.

Long time G602 user for FPS games. Had middle mouse button issues, so I picked up a G604. First one was bad (kept losing profiles in the middle of a game... even when stored on the onboard memory). Logi replaced it under warranty after troubleshooting. Second one seems to be better now, but I really don't like the GHUB software... it seems pretty buggy (and no option to use the old Logi gaming software). Anyway they are very similar... if you like the G602, then the G604 is basically the same, except the mouse wheel can click left and right, and the can also do infinite scrolling (bad for gaming, but can be switched to click scrolling). GHUB software is terrible and Logitech gaming software is not an option. I would rather get another G602 and use LGS, but its not really an option anymore.

This is the updated version of the 602. As others said the software is different and nontransferable. It is also functionally worse. I have been using the 604 for a few years now it feels crappier than the 602 and more importantly the switches in it are not as good. I have had two bust up on me.

All that said, it is a nice mouse, and Logitech has me hooked on the form factor so I will keep getting them, but be warned it is a downgrade in quality.

Why this over the MX series which is also on sale? Is this a gaming specific mouse?

I have MX Master mouse that uses Unifying receiver dongle. I also have K275 keyboard that uses some different dongle. Looks like this mouse comes with a third type of dongle. Logitech needs to get their stuff together, noone wants a dongle zoo.

The G602 and both G604's I've had over the last few years have eventually ended up with the seemingly-unavoidable double-click issue (mouse double-clicks when you only press the button once, or clicks in the middle of a drag).

The new software is total trash on its own anyway. It will randomly stop working (ie. not auto switch your profiles after a time). Not to mention the ui seems to have been designed by a monkey. Makes no sense.

I've avoided this in the past because like many other Logitech mice it seems like - based on reviews- it also has a tendency to develop the dreaded double click issue. Is that still a problem with them?
