Where did you hear that ink blue is Best Buy exclusive? It's sold by multiple vendors.
It used to say on the Best Buy page, although I'm not seeing it now. It's sold by some mom and pop appliance stores, but no other large retailers that offer sales like this.

I bought mine at Costco one year. It was a different design that fit an odd size bowl. No paddle attachments other than the one they came with work. Next time I'll buy from KitchenAid directly Frown
The newer ones sold in Costco fix this problem, but with a caveat. The new ones are standard bowl sizing, but they have an AC motor with a worm gear. The ones with an odd bowl size have a DC motor.

The DC motor version delivers higher torque at lower speeds (better for bread, thicker doughs), are quieter, and are more reliable. The AC version ramps speed at lower speeds if it gets stuck, which isn't great.

If you want a DC motor kitchenaid now, the only model you'll find it in is the 7 quart proline model. You can also tell by the measurement of power. DC motors in kitchenaids are given a HP number, while AC is given watts.

Been waiting for a deal on these! Even if they are $200 sometimes, I don't think you'll find that deal this year

That's interesting, maybe they've changed what they offer because I have not had that issue. I have the Costco model, purchased march 2020 and bought additional attachments from amazon. All the mixing attachments we bought were listed for 6qt have worked great.

I am not so sure they will get to that price point this year....refurbs maybe. On the best buy homepage they have a black friday price guarantee. If this was something i needed, i would strongly consider the bird in hand approach, and either return or get reimbursed if they do happen to drop.
I concur

Sounds like this is a good kitchenaid? My has mentioned several times she wants one but I know nothing about them, would be a good Christmas gift. On average she bakes once a week- cookies, desserts, etc. No bread, yet.
Now if I could remember what color she mentioned also ๐Ÿ™„

It's always said Best Buy exclusive. Searching I can't find another retailer with the Ink Blue besides Best Buy.

Apart from the size ? What are other difference between these 2 .
Best Buys has smaller bowl, slightly smaller motor, & no pouring shield included in accessories. I'd go with the Costco model if I had to buy it again. I have a Pro 600 bowl lift 6 QT that kicks butt on big amount of pizza dough, cookies & other bread doughs.

got one from BB for $250 a year ago. while it does the job, it is extremely loud and high pitch as the motor is working too hard for small dough, and the dough mix is very poor. We didn't buy this from Costco because it is too big, 6qt.
