Fun fact mobile 3060 is the full scale GA106 IC with 3840 shader + 120 TMUs, desktop rtx 3060 has 3584 + 112
This is 10th gen i5, not 11th as posted. 80W 3060. There is an advanced bios where you can undervolt, overclock cpu and ram. Lower end build but only 4lbs. CPU can run hot but undervolting and configuring the fan speed helps. Purchased this last time it was on sale and impressed my it.
This has to be the best budget gaming laptop with RTX 3060. It has the highest FPS per dollar.

Just returned mines. The CPU fan wasn't working properly. Temps shot up.to 80 C so fast. I set the fan to max. I bought 2. the other one cooled just fine. Track pad was terrible. It's flimsy. It rattles a bit. The fit and finish is bad. Registering motion and clicks works great.

Not sure why you're thumbs downing. Posting this to show others to check their fans. My CPU fan would not ramp up to push air out. Tested same testing on both laptops. Returned the 1 that didn't work.

why are similar config desktops more expensive again?
Because for desktops crypto miners will take the GPU out and resell everything else. Thus their cost for just a 3060 is significantly lower. With a laptop you have to keep the entire laptop to mine on the GPU. It has very little to do with the lesser laptop performance compared to desktop and everything to do with mining. Its why in every pre-built thread youll see someone ask if the GPU is LHR (low hash rate) and discuss mining, while its less common to see miners in laptop threads.

Anyways this is very good performance for your dollar.

Most laptops on sale with a mobile 3060 float around $1100. Best bang for buck if you're fine with the processor and adding a $50 16gb stick of ram yourself.

As a warning; I ordered this two weeks ago on the same sale, it's coming via ontrac and has been Delayed every day for 8 days now. I wouldn't expect it in a hurry.

That is 100% on you for not knowing how to use it... It literally has a high performance mode that boosts the fans and make it stay in the 60's C for temperature. I bought it a couple of weeks ago when it was being offered for this exact same price and it is a great laptop. Trackpad sucks in most laptops anyways, specially if it is a budget one like this one. For good trackpads you need to pay for premium laptops. Besides, this being a gaming laptop, you will most likely be using a controller or a mouse anyways.

You just need to find a single 8GB stick at the same speed (believe it is 3200MHz). Contrary to what you may have heard, you can mix and match RAM. Should be 30-40 bucks.

I bought 2. The other one boosted the fan to cool at 60 C just fine. I applied the settings to both. I'm not picky about track pads as I've never used a premium one. This is the first time I've ever used one that has a lot of play on the entire bottom half. My other $200 laptop has a better fit and finish on the track pad.

I do not do gaming but want a laptop which will not run slow. Also expandable Ram since I do run Docker containers and need Ram. Is this a good choice or just get a lower TDP processor with upgradable Ram which has better Battery life or may be better screen???? I was also looking at some with same H cpu better built no GPU but they all have UHD igpu. Worried if they can run 4k screens smoothly

This laptop is probably not for you. Better options out there that are thinner, lighter, higher quality, better battery for same price or lower. Decent CPU with iGPUs theses days can do light gaming and 4k no problem. Hell i think a raspberry pie can do 4k these days.

Ahh yes. Userbenchmark, the site banned from all the computer hardware focused Reddit pages for entirely bogus results.

If you are thinking upgrading the RAM:
There are two slots. One 8GB in one of the slots, removable.
Can be upgraded to 64GB total.
