Dolby Vision is 12-bit color, as opposed to HDR10, which is 10-bit color. Meaning that HDR10 (or HDR, as it's commonly referred to) has 1.07 billion colors and Dolby Vision has 68.7 billion colors. It translates on the digital version. Disc is just a higher overall quality.

Lol. That's not what it says. It says it can't play in UHD on your device, not that you can't play at all. It's because your phone doesn't have a 4K display. You can do HDR/Dolby Vision on newer iPhones, and you can record in 4K, because it has a 4K camera, but iPhones don't display 4K. You're still purchasing it in 4K, though, so you will be able to watch it on a device that supports 4K, like a TV. It will play in HD on your phone.




It's because your PC doesn't have a 4K display… Vudu detects your device. You still purchase in 4K, but you have to have a 4K screen to watch it in UHD. You are correct that it will play in HD, though.




And there is the problem with so many commenters…

picked up several titles that i don't own on disc (or never got a 4k blu-ray release) using the 20% gift cards at kroger deal Smilie

very surprised at comedies getting a dolby vision pass, but hey i'm not gonna complain!

So I've been following discussions on a 4k player and general consensus is DV capability is best.So is Dolby vision via streaming a superior stream as well or it doesnt translate and it's only on physical disc?
