Wow sold out quick.
It's not sold out.

Another note- I don't usually suggest HP but if you do get a good deal, only through Costco. HP from website will charge you restock fee and grind your ass to stop your return or warranty request. All that bother and risk can be avoided by buying through Costco.

Does anyone know if it is easy to open the case to upgrade the RAM for the dq2043cl. In other HP thread is was mentioned that you have to remove the rubber feet to get to the screws.
Check out youtube to see how these rubber feet are removed. Peeled back. They are actually long rubber strips to slightly elevate the HP laptop for better cooling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF9ryZd59ss
Use a hair dryer's heat to loosen the rubber strip's glue. The dude in the above video pulled them off, so now he has to use new glue to stick them back on. A tacky non- permanent adhesive is better than a strong glue.

Rats! I'd bite on the $300 Win10 one if it was dual channel RAM. Otherwise specs are the same - including IPS.

By the way, I've read that Windows 11 ABSOLUTELY REQUIRES you log into an account... no local accounts like Windows 10. I'd go for the older model and decide on 11 later if the RAM thing didn't matter.
So this doesn't have dual channel? If it doesn't then can you replace 8GB RAM with 16GB stick?

Is it plastic body? Or aluminum like Lenovo Ideapad? I don't like cheap plastic as most hp
Plastic painted like metal. Funny that I actually hated HP's thin aluminum sheet metal. I actually prefer the ABS plastic in the old days or the light weight reinforced plastics on the Lenovo.

Would this be a decent option for someone needing a PC for web surfing and annual tax software?
More than enough for that purpose

Is this pretty much the same laptop from the previous Target deal for $330 but 14" display?

Is this the annual Costco laptop deal? I got the $280 HP laptop deal a couple years ago when they shipped i5 even though it was advertised as i3... that laptop just stopped powering on. I could replace the mainboard, but it might be best to just replace these cheap things every couple years.

This was the Nov 2019 deal

EDIT: looks like the CPU is soldered to the mainboard, so I'm not going to bother replacing it.

Funny, i just had the same issue yesterday with the HP laptop from Costco bought back in 2019. Thought it was only me. Is there a way to contact Costco for warranty.
