Already stocked up, but I get the Ajax with FT conditioner when on sale for $1 w/coupon at Pricerite and use it for towels, socks, and rags and have been happy with it compared to brands like Xtra which I've always regretted. Use brands like Tide and Gain on my clothes though.
Ehh not really. Xtra is awful.
I would ask for All, Purex with clorox, or even great value if allowed. Those are still kinda cheap but work well.
They're definitely comparable, and Xtra is a better value. I'd take it. Ajax is a heavily watered down value brand (it hasn't been owned by Colgate in 16 years - don't be deceived by the name). Both are value detergentsโฆ they may suck at removing stains, but if you treat your stains or have unstained laundry, they'll get your clothes clean. There's no reason to wash every load of laundry with a $13 bottle of Tide.

Oh I agree Ajax is an economy brand. But Xtra was shown to work worse than plain water in some reviews.
Slightly better than plain water but not by much. Almost as bad as A&H.
A&H is a solid mid tier detergent. I believe it's the best selling laundry detergent among Millenials by unit sales (not revenue). It no longer regularly heavily discounts itself, and it forced P&G to introduce Tide Simply, as well as place downward price pressure on Tide. I can regularly purchase a 100 oz. (or slightly less) bottle of Tide for $9 or so from major retailers - less than I paid 15 years ago, despite inflationโฆ.

In terms of stain removal, yes, not cleaning ability. Ajax hasn't been reviewed in 16 years - I bet it would perform worse. The last bottle I purchased was mostly warter.
My local store showed inventory online for order. Found the shelves stacked! Scanned in store and item couldn't be found. Long process for a manager to give the OK.

Thanks OP.

I'm either getting $8 worth of detergent or $8 worth of useless labor.
They seemingly found some, just picked my eight up.
edit...got intended item, no substitute.
