I can't speak of HiSense's track record so I am not saying you're wrong about this specific brand or series. However, I wouldn't agree with your general advice about TVs in this price range. And of course longevity reviews are rare to find.

It's the same but more expensive and has VRR
The last TV I had that broke was as a Sony HDTV which at the time was a 4000+ TV. If a customer gets few yrs out of a $400 TV I would say thats pretty good regardless.
That said, I decided this is the TV for my home gym and can't wait to finally be able to watch something while lifting
For those with Discover cards there are two more opportunities to get this TV cheaper: 1.) Take advantage of the paying with cashback promo if you have it (https://slickdeals.net/f/15368836-targeted-credit-cardholder-discounts-at-amazon-pay-with-discover-cashback-get-up-to-40-off-more?src=SiteSe
Definitely read this before buying a Hisense TV.
And lol, no, this TV is not equivalent to the TCL 6 series.

Yes, this tv is AMAZING out the box. I had the 65" version and was blown away. But three days in I saw the screen flicker 3 times in a row. Some of you may not see that or any problems for even a year or more. But the PROBABILITY of this budget set giving you problems down the road is higher than a brand name. If you have the budget invest in something that you know will last you years. A thousand dollar tv that lasts you 5 years is ultimately cheaper than a five hundred dollar tv that lasts you two. Not saying that this TVs life span is two years. Only pointing out the fact that that is almost never considered in reviews and ratings.
That being said, this has one of the best PQ I have seen in a budget tv.
The problem with a 1K priced name brand and I've seen it happen is that it can also go bad just like a budget set. I'd rather gamble on 400 than a 1k set. It didn't happen to me but my brother and a friend both had samsungs and they went bad. I've bought TCL's and hisense and none have gone bad so far. Just my 2 cents.
I thought rocu was discontinued
