Reviews: Verge gives the Google Pixel 5a a score of 8, noting it's IP67 water resistance rating, much improved battery life and top of the class Camera. Head on over to the Verge for their In-Depth Review of this phone.
I learned real quick that Iike a dedicated fingerprint button. With it behind the screen, the screen has to be on for it to work. I like leaving ambient screen, auto brightness and all that stuff off, and if you leave fingerprint enabled, the Pixel doesn't allow you to turn off ambient display. Even with "lift to check" and everything else disabled, the screen still lights up with movement and what not (as of now the only way to keep your ambient screen off is to disable fingerprint). Highly annoying. unlocking my phone is something I do prob 50+ times a day. With a dedicated button on the back and I can easily unlock the phone before I remove it from my pocket.
For you, sure.
For others? $399 is a good deal for quick software updates, good cameras, 5g, water resistance, and other features this phone has.
I think this is the first pixel phone to not have the free Google photo cloud storage. Every pixel after this are in the same boat, including the 6 and 6 pro. That to me was the selling point of pixel. Sure it's not too bad to pay for a plan to get more storage, but that adds up over time, and photos and videos will only get bigger and use more. It's sad that Google decides to discontinue that on the later pixels. I'd rather pay 50 more to have it upload free for life…

I think I'm going to return my P6Pro for this.

In 2019, P2 and I got the 3a XL for $329, marked down from $479. I'll consider that $150 a slick deal. Not that we're looking to upgrade anyway, we're gonna hold out for another release cycle. Maybe even a year for the Pixel 6a.
I was ready to order P6pro, but the lack of fingerprint reader on the back, and the lagging of the onscreen one have me hesitant...
This might be a good jump from my pixel 2XL... It won't be a true upgrade, but at least I'll get the software/updates and security patches, which I don't anymore with my 2XL.

I could care less about wireless charging. These pixel phones charge so fast. There's no point in even caring about that.
Why do you like it so much? I'm just curious.
