I'm too much of cheap basterd to pay monthly fees unfortunately so these cams are no go for me. Shame, as they seem very decent for the price…

I don't work for Woot! or AMZN or anything related to either, just been a customer for a long time even before AMZN bought them.

You can't use rechargeable batteries with these as the voltage drops too low on the batteries and can mess up the camera board.
These are used units that may have been traded in to upgrade. I purchased this once and there is no warranty. I got stuck with lemons where one light didn't work for "night-vision" so it only worked during the daytime and another one ate through batteries every 2 weeks even when the cameras were not active and took NO videos.
I was told I could trade in the cameras for a discounted new camera system and I bet this trade-in program is how they get these used cameras in the first place to sell on woot (blink and woot are both owned by amazon).
I don't trust woot or amazon for used electronics after my experience. I also wasn't very happy with blink especially considering I have had blink cameras since they were fairly new to the market.
Here's how my mixed system works:
Original XT2 had, and still has, the free online storage. Can not record to USB stick.
Pair of newer XT outdoor cameras record to a USB stick attached to the newer synch module that were packaged with. They are not eligible for free online storage because even though I purchased the XT2 and aynch module before the Grandfathered date, I did not create an account until after the cutoff. Could not get them to budge.
I bought a set of refurbished XT2s earlier this summer, and they have free online storage. They can not record to the USB stick.
I'm only using the newer synch module.
"XT2, XT and Indoor (gen 1) cameras receive 7200 seconds of basic cloud storage per Sync Module, free for the life of the device. This is separate from a subscription plan. When one of these cameras is set up on a Sync Module 2, that Sync Module 2 is assigned 7200 seconds of basic cloud storage just for them."

"Existing Account Storage
Accounts that were created on or before April 15, 2020 continue to have the original 7200 seconds per Sync Module of basic cloud storage.
