$14.99 is ok deal given pandemic prices/availability. If you don't need one, look next year BF. This is a recurring deal every BF.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but hyperinflation has already started as a result of the pandemic, and is likely not going away. The is probably close the the "new" lowest price ever.

I believe I bought this for $10 last year Black Friday. For light duty tasks it has been just as good as the Gorilla brand with metal steps that we bought 10 years ago for $50 in my opinion. They are pretty sturdy and even at $15 are a good buy
I purchased this as well then and if I needed another one I would buy it again even at the $15 price point. I use mine everyday.

Bought this a couple BFs ago. It's fine for using in my closet to get to the upper shelves, but it's heavy and clunky as heck. If you are thinking about getting one for general house use I highly recommend "investing" in an aluminum model. This is truly one of those items where you get what you pay for -- $10-15 is all it's worth IMHO.

Same here. Be sure to lift this up and and swing it around like you are pputting it in and out of your crowded closet before you buy it. Its OK for some, but my wife told me to put it in the garage.

IMO, this is the best step stool. If I were you, I will wait for this to go on sale.

Lighter, sturdier and also have a useful tray on top. It is going to last a lifetime.
Looks like the one you linked above is 4" taller at the top step, which could be useful

I have a perfectly fine 2 step stool that I measured as 19" at the top step. I saw a $25 in Costco yesterday but need to check on its height. Just thinking of an impulse purchase here on a taller 3 step to replace or supplement the 2 step. I also have a 6 foot ladder and a Werner 21 ft 3 way adjustable that I can drag in from the garage and that is the most useful to go higher, but it is a heavy sucker

Just FYI, I'm a big and tall guy. We have super high ceilings and tall cabinets. The duty rating on this is very low, and I can feel it flex a bit when I am on it. This is not a feeling I've had from older, sturdier ultra compact foldable units like these I've owned in the past, and I painted ceilings, etc. for hours on those. Sadly, gave that away after the last painting project. If you are a big and tall human, bear that in mind. Hope that helps someone.

following up on this I got one from the sale last week too, I'm 5'7 175 and this thing had definitely "slipped" a bit while I was on the top step at first thought it hadn't latched properly or something but nope happened twice more.

I wouldn't not buy because of this but definitely be careful

Good deal. I got same one 2 years ago for $10. Just picked this one up for second floor so I don't have to lug other one from garage.

Bought exact the same one on 11/08/2020, at the price of $9.88, at Home Depot. Inflation is so real.

FWIW I just did a quick Costco and HD run to check these out. I went to Costco first and grabbed the 29.99 Cosco 3 step. Aluminum steps, 3rd step height 28.5. Seemed decent and I will wait to see what else comes on BF and can return it.

Then HD. First I saw what I thought was this Gorilla deal ladder and it compares pretty well to the Costco one. It was marked 39.99. Then I noticed that the 14.88 ladder was in a little box about 20 feet away. I started laughing when I pulled it out. Much smaller all around, top step is 26 inches. I would say You Get What You Pay For here. I wouldn't get it. Then I saw the 45 dollar aluminum Gorilla that someone else noted above. Now I have lust for that one and may get it here at some point. 30 inch top step height so better than my Costco option, and really light yet also steady.

On something like a stepladder that I will probably own for the rest of my life I can see investing a few extra bucks to get a nice one rather than being my normal Slickdeal cheapie

Got one of these a few years ago for the same slick deal. Works great. My wife always steals it so I am getting another.

I have both the aluminum and steel one , Steel one is 10 lbs n aluminum one is 8lbs. But i would not say it is clunky. Both open and close smoothly. , imo this steel one still a very good step stool for day to day things
I have both as well, though my aluminum one is probably 5-6 lbs. While neither one is heavy, the aluminum one is very easy to move around one-handed, but the steel one is just heavy enough to be a little awkward. The steel one is great if you keep it in one place (the basement, for me), while my aluminum one ventures all over the house and is particularly easy to use for hanging holiday lights when you're holding lights in one hand and moving the ladder along with the other. For $15 though, buy it if you need it!
