I am professional audio and video specialist. Weather conditions will effect your tv,regardless covered or not. Get ready for lot's of service calls. I suggest you to build case just let screen exposed. You will have better chance hopefully. Good luck.

Bought this for my office, for late-night TV viewing without waking up the kids. I ran the vegetable video, and mine has very minimal blooming. I compared it with my other two (much more expensive) TVs, and I don't see any differences in blooming worth mentioning. Certainly, nothing like the other guy's posted photos. I did tweak a few settings on the U6GR5: turned the brightness to normal, changed to color balance a bit to get rid of a bit of the green, and changed the contrast a little. The colors are good and the blacks too. I'm pretty happy with it. I have a fancy color calibrator that I use on all my TVs and monitors to make sure they look as good as possible. I haven't run it on this TV yet, but I'm not sure I even need to, since it looks good enough as-is.

ug6r is only 60hz, your archaic babble seems like you think it's 120hz

Just got mine today, it looks… good. Nothing great but pretty good. I'm having issues with flickering in dark scenes, is this a hardware issue or calibration?

Is this better than the $399 Insignia - 55" Class F50 Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV from Best Buy? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insi...Id=6450248 [bestbuy.com]
I would love to know the answer to this as well, but there are no reviews out there on the F50 yet.

Just picked this up the 55 from Costco they had a bunch there in the queens my area. Saw that Best Buy has them also in 65 inch. TBH I think this tv is the actual best BLack Friday deal to be had.

Best Buy lists it as the same u6g tv but with Roku instead. It's a winner since I prefer Roku as the tv os and just ad a google tv box on anyway
So I finally got to try this out and the blooming around objects when they are on a perfect black background is awful… even the wife says it's pretty much unwatchable. Compared to my 3 year old TCL 6 series… nah can't have it. I'm picking up the TCL 646 for 699 and going to put them side by side

I turned the TV off and on then followed the calibration settings on rtings.com for the U6G which is a similar model. I saw some improvements on the dark scenes.

Costco website is confusing. At the top, under Features, it says 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty. When you scroll down (or click on Warranty & Services), it says 2nd Year Warranty. Which is it? I chatted with online rep and they said 2 years warranty. Why is it advertised as 3-year manufacturer's warranty then?

The Costco website is confusing. The 2nd year warranty refers to the Costco Concierge Services.

But if you go to Hisense's website and view the specs for the 65u6gr5, it clearly says the TV has a 3 year warranty.

Any reason to buy this over the ONN 70" at walmart (cheaper) if ideally I would want a 60"

Did you calibrate the TV according to the rtings.com? I noticed the blooming at first when I launched Netflix then I lowered the backlight and I managed to lower the blooming.

Even though there's no official review yet on the U6GR5, the specs and user reviews place it in a completely different ballpark than any Onn TV. It's no comparison. Buying the cheapest TV you can, you have to be willing to make compromises and live with them. Also, be prepared, any TV can be defective or have an issue you can't live with, no matter the price.

Last year this time (black friday/cyber monday) i bought a 65" Samsung TU7000. I expected the TV to be decent since i wasn't buying the absolute cheapest. I believe there was a 70" of lesser quality, for cheaper at the time. It ended up having some odd purple hue/halo on white backgrounds. I ended up returning it for a refund.

I wound up with a 55" TCL 4-series for $200. It has some red ghosting during certain scenes. But, for the price i paid, i'm willing to live with it.

TV's have to be one of the most difficult things to shop for and compare besides mattresses. You can't blindly trust any certain brand. Panels, features, firmwares, etc. change multiple times a year. Entire series that once were highly recommended can silently fall out of grace overnight.

My recommendation is buy at a brick and mortar store (or online with the option to return at B&M) and be willing to either accept any possible issue(s) or return the TV if you can't live with it.

Thanks for coming to my street corner hobo TED talk. Good luck!

That is interesting. I just bought this TV from Best Buy. I hope I didn't just blindly throw out the papers.

Unfortunately, Best Buy sells the 65U6GR, which has a 1 year warranty. I think only Costco has the 65U6GR5, which has the 3 year warranty. But they're otherwise the same display as far as I can tell. Very confusing.

I just came back from Costco. The picture on this TV looked decent - UNTIL I requested one of the tech to run the same content running on all the other TVs near by.
The moment he changed the content, I was so disappointed. The picture looked dull compared to the other TVs. Also, most importantly the picture was not sharp AT ALL.
I do understand we can tweak some of the settings - still I was not convinced that it could improve that much.
I do agree the other TVs were priced higher - and I honestly believe the price difference is worth to go for a better TV - particularly if this is going to be used on a daily basis.
