I am returning it tomorrow to Costco. It is so bad that even my wife who could care less said to get rid of it.
To get a better look at what I'm talking about I put the TCL 646 next to the u6gr5. This is one of my sons sensory videos. Actually one of the best tests for blooms I have ever seen. Look how bad the blooming is on the u6gr5 is! Unwatchable. https://i.imgur.com/8BpytD1.jpg The extra 250 is very worth it. You can even do the TCL 635 with the same panel if you want Roku. |

I should add that there are multiple Costco's in my area. At the first one (one close to where I work), I asked the Customer Service worker about the price match for buying the TV two weeks before the beginning of the sale. She told me that any items in the holiday book would be excluded from a price match. So, I stopped by the Costco that is a few miles from my home to ask the same question and was told that my local Costco would do the price match. When I mentioned what the other Costco said, the employee told me that it depended on the store manager. My Costco's manager has no problem price matching anything within 30 days. So, I called the Orlando Costco my son would use to ask the same question. Talking to someone in the management office (because that store's phone menu didn't give me an option to talk to someone in Customer Service), I was told that store would also price match as long as it happened within 30 days. My son just left the store and happily reported that he got the price adjustment without any hesitation from that store's Customer Service. So, perhaps this is one of those YMMV situations. Fortunately for us, the Costco I use and the one my son uses has no problem doing price adjustments. I guess the key is to check with one's preferred Costco first? So, because the TV is on now sale for a price that's better than the one advertised in the printed ad, there's no need for an adjustment unless anyone played the game I played two weeks before the TV dropped in price. If so, I will hope you have a Costco that responds like ours. 🤞
I could not find the 65 inch version but since I live in an apartment, the 55 inch fits nicely in my living room. I will continue stress testing the TV.
Best Buy lists it as the same u6g tv but with Roku instead. It's a winner since I prefer Roku as the tv os and just ad a google tv box on anyway
So I finally got to try this out and the blooming around objects when they are on a perfect black background is awful… even the wife says it's pretty much unwatchable. Compared to my 3 year old TCL 6 series… nah can't have it. I'm picking up the TCL 646 for 699 and going to put them side by side

The Costco website is confusing. The 2nd year warranty refers to the Costco Concierge Services.
But if you go to Hisense's website and view the specs for the 65u6gr5, it clearly says the TV has a 3 year warranty.

Last year this time (black friday/cyber monday) i bought a 65" Samsung TU7000. I expected the TV to be decent since i wasn't buying the absolute cheapest. I believe there was a 70" of lesser quality, for cheaper at the time. It ended up having some odd purple hue/halo on white backgrounds. I ended up returning it for a refund.
I wound up with a 55" TCL 4-series for $200. It has some red ghosting during certain scenes. But, for the price i paid, i'm willing to live with it.
TV's have to be one of the most difficult things to shop for and compare besides mattresses. You can't blindly trust any certain brand. Panels, features, firmwares, etc. change multiple times a year. Entire series that once were highly recommended can silently fall out of grace overnight.
My recommendation is buy at a brick and mortar store (or online with the option to return at B&M) and be willing to either accept any possible issue(s) or return the TV if you can't live with it.
Thanks for coming to my street corner hobo TED talk. Good luck!
