I think he was just telling him that if he's a non gamer then no need to spend the extra few bucks for refresh rate and response time.

This is better than the Lenovo, I have both. This has HDR , 166hz and height adjustable. Definitely worth the price difference .

I bought this monitor last night to replace my LG 32GN50T 32" 1080p 165hz panel, and unfortunately, this QHD monitor is a downgrade in every single way except resolution.

To summarize, this has:
-Much worse contrast
-Much lower peak brightness
-Much more motion blur/smearing, which had an immediate and significant negative effect on my skill in the games I play
-Slightly worse colors
...and this is personal preference, but the large monitor stand on the 32GN63T forces the monitor to be about 5 inches closer to you, which makes it seem too big. Additionally, poor scaling in Windows 11 apparently continues to be a thing. Many things do not even look sharper at 1440p due to this. Also, obviously, your PC is going to work harder to achieve lower framerates at 1440p, which isn't an issue on its own, but combine that with its disadvantages, and I already have this boxed up and ready to return.

So Costco's website says this is a VA panel, but in store their demo video states it is IPS so I check on LG's website and they list it as IPS too.

Stop your BS...It's a VA panel:
https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg...ng-monitor

Yesterday,I bought both of them at my local Costco, connect them both...
If you not a gamer,$200 IPS monitor is much better for a color accuracy,it's just a better looking screen.I do photo and video(as my hobby) and the answer was easy for me.
$250 had issue with ghosting and it's going back to Costco. Not vibrant at all. It's not worth $250 IMO
IPS for the regular consumer would be a better, even much better choice.
Both of it is not for a professional gamers or a video/photo editors, but colors looks way better with IPS screen.

Noobi Question. I have a MacBook Air M1. For this or the IPS monitor, would I also need to separately buy some kind of cable from USB C port to HDMI port of monitor, or whatever is needed is included with this monitor (doubtful)?

My needs are basic, mostly a bigger monitor for College, may be some games at times. $50 difference between this monitor and the IPS one is not huge. Even if I don't need a gaming monitor, I won't mind buying this one if my experience will be better with this monitor. But it seems from your response, that the IPS monitor may actually be a better monitor for my use, did I understand that right? Again, don't mind the extra $50 for the $250 monitor if it's a better monitor even though my use is more basic but also don't want to buy it if this will have issues that IPS doesn't. Thanks for your help.

If the color accuracy ,more vivid colors is more important, then playing the games with a dull colors, then 100% go with a $200(IPS) monitor.
I don't play games, and answer was easy for me...Rich colors is more important for me...

Thank you! I ended up buying the IPS Monitor from Best Buy after a price match. I hope the monitor linked below is the same monitor as Costco since strangely, BB price for the IPS monitor was $299.99 (though I was able to PM it to $199.99), hopefully it is exactly the same IPS monitor as Costco (or better):

It's the same monitor, but how did you PM with a Best Buy??? The model number Costco sell is different(same monitor, but model number is different)?
Also, why would you buy from BB.if the Costco has the best possible return policy?
You can bring this monitor back to Costco any time!!!
I don't follow your logic!

I gave the BB Customer Service Rep the BB SKU #, and the Costco Item # (to search the item at Costco.com), and he happily price matched because it is the same monitor.

Reason I wanted to buy from BB is that I had some BB gift cards ($80 BB Gift cards from a previous Apple Gift Cards Purchase where they gave $10 BB Gift Card for purchasing $100 Apple Gift Card). I had purchased $800 worth of Apple gift cards at that time (to buy a MacBook Air).

Not worried about the return policy. Even BB has an extended holiday return policy (till Jan. 16, 2022). Not planning to return it unless there is an issue with the monitor in which case I have sufficient time to test.

Yeah, I read about this also, and when I looked at it in store I did notice that there seems to be extra space between the display and the front layer. Although personally, I don't think it would bother me much. Going to give it a shot and see what happens. One of the good thing about Costco is the easy returns!
Just purchased this 2 days ago. There is 3D effect only when you sit too close. I sit around 2 feet away from it and there is ZERO effect. Not at all a problem for me. Works perfectly for gaming and work.

Both are not same. Costco one is 165hz and BB one is 75hz. There is day and night difference between the two. But BB one is IPS though which is better than VA panel in Costco model.

I was comparing the Best Buy IPS Monitor to the Costco IPS Monitor (see below), not the Costco UltraGear:

https://www.costco.com/lg-32%22-c...93227.html

Also, someone mentioned that the BestBuy version of the IPS Monitor has an additional DisplayPort that Costco version does not.
