I paid fully last Wednesday, waited three days for the payment to clear, requested unlock online Saturday and was immediately approved. My phone settings immediately updated to no SIM restrictions.
Anyone know if Verizon Start Unlimited is fine for the gift card? Verizon sometimes requires the higher priced plans.
Also, I did it last year in-store with Sprint and they said limit 2 gift card upgrades. Not sure if it was an in-store thing, I plan on doing it online this year with 4 lines.
Could someone who's done this before tell us what the total discount is for this deal if you add in service? Would it be the $300 gc minus a month of service minus $50 surcharge - activation fee? The cheapest service seems to ATT at $65 for 1 line plus taxes/fees? Am I doing this right?

I got the iPhone 11 last year in store and activated in store. The eGift Card came in within 1-2 hours. I'm not sure about in store. Seems your experience is more in line with an online purchase?
And last year, they didn't have the iPhone 12s as they were launched late. The iPhone 11 was $300 discount, Pro was $400 if I remember correctly. So this year there is an extra $50 discount, though the 12 is up $100, while the pro stays the same price.
Can you cancel the line soon after ? Wanted to check ?
Last two years it was $450 GC for the previous year's phone. The deal they had last week was better as it was $450 off instead of a GC for the 12 mini.
This time, they are doing current gen phones which is great. Can't read the info on trade in, but I'm sure this is only good in store.
They require installment plans, and the MSRP is about $50 higher so keep that in mind. That said, on the 2019 BF deal, Verizon didn't start charging me the installment plan until May 2020. On the 2020 BF deal, Verizon still hasn't started to charge me an installment plan. Both times, They send you a SIM card to activate the new phone, but I could not activate them both times - ended up using the SIM card from the previous phone. Extremely YMMV...
GC first year took 14 weeks to arrive. GC second year took 2 days.
Can you cancel the lines after receiving gift card ?
Thoughts on the availability of the iPhone 12 Mini on Straight Talk ($299)? My MIL wants it (She is already on ST) and worried it might sell out quickly.
So is it effectively similar to buying an iphone for full price from Apple itself (but with a 300 dollar gift card via walmart) without having to go through the shenanigans of trade-in and unlimited plan from verizon? I dont have an unlimited plan and verizon will not give me any discount to buy any iphone unless I both switch to an unlimited plan AND trade in a phone. Thank you.
I never had an unlimited plan until this year. Call ahead and make sure, but i dont think it should be an issue. And yes, the best part is all the trade in bs. You always get better value selling your phone by yourself especially if its unlocked.
Thank you for posting your experiences! In the past did it mention on the website that the gift card is included? I'll be using Walmart + to get the early access so I just want to make sure that I don't miss anything. You have had no issues with buying multiple phones in the past? Any tips you have come across over the years?
Thanks again!
Yes, it has always been the same deal. Normally they won't have the latest phones in the deal, which they do have this time. Value wise, the 13s might be the best deal. As they tend to increase the price of the older ones by 50 bucks.
Edit - I have always bought two phones with no issues. Not sure what the exact cap is. Also i might do the exact thing and use early access as the deal might end pretty quick.

Thank you for getting back. Hard to get hold of anyone right now to confirm at Walmart and not sure verizon CS knows this deal as I asked a couple days back and they kept telling me about their deals only. So i hope to be Ok with the shared data plan.
Bottom line is order online today if in stock, and setup a day for activation ( as i guess u cannot activate online from what i am hearing... a little murky there) and once activated will get egift card.
And someone else mentioned but, the cost is $50 more than apple.com (eg 1149 vs 1099 for pro max) and activation seems to be $40. So saving is around 230-250 (rather than 300)

How did you know the deal was live and ready to check out?
