When I went shopping for a fridge recently, I kept coming across posts about LG refrigerators having compressor issues (class action lawsuit settled last year) that supposedly haven't been fixed with more recent models. That was enough for me to not even consider LG fridges. I didn't consider Samsung fridges also but I can't recall why those scared me off.

I saw this one at Pacific Sales and noticed that the shelves were sagging/bowed in the middle. The shelves also felt very cheap.
I need a new refrigerator but I've been warned by many to stay away from LG as well as Samsung.

LG washers and dryers are highly rated though.

While I'm not recommending this refrigerator, there are many horror stories from every appliance manufacturer.

Every refrigerator thread on SD has strong hate messages for LG and Samsung. This looks like manufactured campaign against these brands.

Consumer Reports rated LG as the top brand to buy for fridges. I trust them. My Samsung crapped out on me after four years. No matter what, I am getting the extended warranty next time.

Most likely, just make sure you get the longest warranty.

Since it has no ice/water thru door, it has one less feature to break(which I prefer)

Samsung refrigerator I have needs to be opened up ( unscrewed panel to see the motherboard and fan) every few months because the ice blocks the fan from moving causing the refrigerator and the freezer from working. Before this stupid fan, there was an icemaker problem causing the ice to not drop down the compartment and I found out the ice melted on the sliding track. Samsung refrigerator sucks!!!

How likely would the compressor fail if it doesn't do so in the first 5 years. Warranty states sealed parts and compressor come with 5 years of warranty, including part and labor. It appears to have an ice maker but no water dispenser.
