Additionally, I wonder if the 2 year warranty sticks too if this works.
Anyone have any idea on this? Thanks

warranty - tricky. I've failed at returning items in store bought on sameday.costco.com (the member only instacart page). Purchases are not connected to your account # or credit card #.

Even if there was an issue with ram swap, it would take a super duper ultra mega power user half a decade to kill a modern ssd in a base mba, and a regular user about a decade. Maybe read up on studies done on ssd longevity. So it's a non-issue. A complete and utter non-issue. Maybe actually inform yourself on the topic at hand before going on a diatribe and calling people names. You do not know what you're talking about, and you have only added unnecessary confusion to a thread bc you just had to spread your weird anti-Apple propaganda.
So to clear things up for anyone wondering: there is, confirmed, no ram swap issue that will destroy your ssd, and M1 Macs are, confirmed, more efficient in how they perform, RAM use included, making 8gb more than enough and certainly not an even comparison vs some piece of garbage asus or whatever that can't run more than 4 tabs of chrome or two apps simultaneously without combusting.
Missing the Best Buy return window (30-day for Elite, but currently doing holiday extension to 01/22/2022 for 10/18/2021+ purchase.. I should've waited), I just put my MBP on CL/eBay. Hard to believe (greedy) Apple came down with the price on this great update.
I'm by no means an Apple enthusiast, but the M1 and M2 chips are clear game changers.

The first-gen M1 Air doesn't have fan, that's the biggest difference from tge first-gen M1 pro.
Those of you waiting for deals on 16gb models - Apple doesn't sell them in store, nor can you buy one in Best Buy or other store. 16gb IS A CUSTOM ORDER MBA. If stores like B&H would be selling them with discount, that would be their inventory of custom ordered MBAs.
To those, who doesn't understand unified memory - I had an XPS with I-9750 and 32Gb of ram before. MBA performance is more seamless.
I run a server, containerization system, 3 browsers with 100+ tabs, slack, zoom, Spotify, dozen other apps, and figma with 12Gb design files. I don't feel any slug (sometimes when I add double the tabs, it can happen, closing an unused browser stops the issue) but my swap is at 8-10 Gb. Ideally I would get 16gb but when I was ordering it after it came out, wait time was 45+ days.
This thing is a beast, compared to my xps 15 w/ i7.
