SanDisk is a subsidiary brand of Western Digital, and the SanDisk Ultra appears to just be a rebranded WD SN550. Since the two drives are identical, you should get the SanDisk over the WD and save yourself $5.

That sandisk is a great deal, will bring old pc to life and keep up with 95% of users out there speed requirements!! There will always be picky naysayers who only want the latest and greatest gen4 or higher but all of these are really good!

Personally I'd go for the Crucial P5 as it has a higher read/write speed.

Pci3 too slow. And they increased prices on pci4 ones. The SN850 was $199 a week ago and now $249 for "Black Friday sale"

I heard their P2 got neutered. Do you know if the P5 is still as fast as it should be?

The only downside I can see with that Sandisk/WD is the 600 TBW lifespan rating (not terrible, just not great)

That's normal for TLC 1TB endurance. Crucial P2 1TB has 150TBW.

Does it work with Synology ds1621+ as a Durable SSD for demanding caching workloads?

I just want the best chance for the thing to last a long time. My old Sandisk SSD is going on 10 years and I doubt it had even that good a rating if they even listed it (but that's why I'm looking in these threads BEFORE it dies).

Think that's lowest price for SanDisk - Ultra since its pretty much SN550. Even WD SN550 says sandisk on memory modules.
