I have the 2.0 version... For those who question if its worth it. Imagin a Man and a kid going insane with happiness by hunting flys around the house. Yep. Got flys or bugs in your house, you will fall in LOVE. Some of you might actually enhance your bugasalt by adding lasers and other accessories to it. YES, they make laser sights and stuff for it. lol..
Anyway, It is worth every penny. Thats why I just snagged this one at only 35 bucks. One for my house, and the other for my gf's house!
The official Bug-A-Salt Ebay store[ebay.com] has box-damaged ones for around this price year round. E.g., Currently the 2.5 version is available for $32.95.

I think this concept is awesome but I do in fact find it hard to justify the spend when it seems similar to nerf gun mechanisms I could buy for way less. Besides the emotional justification for it's worth is there something about the manufacturing that also justifies the cost.
Eg. Are these things of much better build quality than nerf or require higher precision due to salt being the ammo? Can anyone shed additional light on this?
Side note: Rival is amazing, I can hit a can at 20' across the room. Wonder if I could raise my game enough to hit a fly at like 6' - 8'.
Though far from a slick deal, I just bought a Bug-A-Salt SHRED-ER for my step dad. He has a Bug-A-Salt 2.0 and freaking looooves it for black flies and mosquitos up in Maine in the summer. It's pricey, but after watching some YouTube videos on this thing it seemed like the perfect ludicrous upgrade for a secret Santa swap lol. All of these things are so much fun to play with, can't wait to see the SHRED-ER in action haha. These things absolutely ridiculous, although it does seem like from a practicality standpoint this thing works very well on wasps too.
Pure garbage…have to be within a couple of inches…
That is true and an imported one at that.
We should stop spending stupid money on something like this when a 2 penny solution exists, it is called a rubber band. With a little practice, most people can shoot a fly at 3 or 4 feet and the rewards are greater than using a piece of junk plastic and spraying salt all over.
I had the 2.0 version and had a blast. A bigger blast is trying to shoot one out of the air. Oh good times. My wife however hated it 🤷🏻. I'm still debating this one as my 2.0 is dead.

Agreed. For a little more you can get a crosman vigilante and have a bug salt gun + pellet/bb gun https://youtu.be/x3VUmqMZ2t4
I hear they are flying off the shelf
