They are great but I will say a stand is a must, at least for the 52 yr old! I bought the Nordictrack stand, it's half the price and works (use straps to secure the weight mounts).

these guys picked the core fitness due to slightly easier racking

I do presses with my back balancing on a stability ball and just use both weights. With your body and arms floating it works all the core and fast twitch muscles at the the same time.
If only that was the truth

Thanks. Got a set from a bb
As a male, I suggest paying extra for the 90 pound weights. 50 pounds isn't enough to do everything.
I love these. My old roommate left them behind and I started using them with the Peloton app to do strength exercises. It's been way better for me than the gym because I have the whole rack in one dumbbell and am only spending 40ish minutes a day vs 2 hours (driving there, working out, dawdling, driving back, showering). It makes it so much easier to develop that habit to work out for health.

I haven't needed the 90s yet but I imagine I will soon enough. Would be good to have both anyways when doing circuit training when you get there. Totally agree on the awkwardness. Sometimes I bop my head when doing behind the head tricep extensions because they're so awkwardly large
