The 980 is PCIe 3.0. Not 4.0.

The 980 is DRAMless so it's going to slow down a lot more, even if max speed is good.

I think the point he was trying to make was that the cost per gb isn't worth the added cost vs buying a cheaper wd550 branded ssd. That being said, I bought this for my l5pro

Then it's not a true nvme 4 drive.. why have the faster standard if it's not in the spec of nvme4? Nvme 4 starts at 5000MB read and 4000MB write.. anything less is a dud set of chips which never met the RW spec and are downgraded.

No dram cache means it may slow down to even mechanical hard drive speeds, as well as have a shorter lifespan. I'd really recommend the non-SE version over this, even at this discount.
