Yeah... read some horror stories. CyberPower seems to be better and have less horror stories. I've been using CyberPower pure sine wave UPS's for awhile with no major issues.

So is this "safe" to buy? Did they fix the issues with it? Or should I stick to CyberPower?

I only play single player not online and my 3090 is evga xc3 which is not one of most power hungry ones. And I do not play daily only when new games come out basically that I like. I did not have a power outage in my place yet (the town has its own power plant) so this is just something to replace my aging cyberpower unit basically which is about 10 years old and did see few power outages before when I had much less spec systems connected to it years ago.

Kudos again for getting it right in the thread. Given how misleading the VA rating can be, having the peak load in wattage listed in the thread title is a critical piece of information.

My other pet peeve these days is missing the CPU model in budget laptop listings.

I need a UPS for my closet which has my fiber gateaway and a small 5 port network switch. This seems like overkill so I was thinking about the CyberPower ST425 (~$50) which is 425 VA / 260 watts. Seems small enough I might be able to fit it in the network closet but I'm always wondering how much runtime I would get.

I was just at Costco and saw this in store. You can avoid the shipping charge that way. Pro: It has higher capacity than the BR1000MS. Con: It's modified sine wave.

This was previously a 5 thumbs up deal at $100 in Oct.

There are a bunch of deals for smaller capacity units in the $30-$40 range. All are modified sine wave.

The description of this one at Office Depot is lacking details on the capacity. I'm guessing it's a 850VA 500 W model based on the regular price and the fact the other capacity levels in the PST5 line have other listings at Office Depot. If so, $40 for 500W is a pretty good deal.
