A lot of reviewers say that the android 11 update is terribly executed. Missing features, bugs, apps/notifications not working. Thoughts??

An older flagship is the exact wrong thing to purchase. The batteries in them are all older now and will not last that long, and updates DO NOT MATTER. They have mattered ONE TIME in the entire history of android. Please stop if I see another post about update concern I'm going to lose my shiz.
I agree with you about updates not being a big deal but disagree about weak batteries in older phones that are still brand new. I usually purchase 2 year old flagship phones that are brand spankin new like my S9+ and Pixel 2XL.

From what I've read, I agree. Android 11 borked everything.

The 3a does not come with unlimited photo storage, although I still agree that it is the better purchase.
Yes it does I have 3a xl that I'm using right now and I have unlimited backups in high quality to Google photos which is up to 16mp for photos and 1080p videos.

Trying to understand how this phone will work for international travel? Any idea whether this is tri-band? I tried looking into the specs but didn't see anything about it.

They have a bundle where you can get their wireless bluetooth earbuds for $10 after you clip the coupon on the earbuds page and add the phone and earbud to the cart.
Are you sure?
I see a 10$ off coupon making the ear buds $30 and not 10$.

I bought this phone in June of this year at around the same price, and have used it for 5 months. The 6GB RAM makes apps run smoothly, and it has NFC (rare in budget phones) so I could use Google Pay. There are minor issues but nothing unforgivable at this price point.

Chinese APP's has been caught stealing info and photos from the customer's phone. What is stopping chinese phone companies from doing it ?! Protect yourself and stop buying and downloading apps and phones from chinese phone makers. US and western compoanies can be held liable when they are commiting crimes. You can take them to court. These chinese phone makers are getting away because they don't have liable offices. You can't nail them with laws. Don't get into nightmares, stop buying chinese phones.

I have this phone for about 1 year now. I couldn't be any happier. Much better than I expected all around for a 'value' phone. The battery gives me more than 5 or 6 days standby time. Awesome.

How does this compare to the samsung s9 or google pixel 3a? I was looking at getting one of those on ebay used, but this looks tempting.
Older flagships tend to have better quality components and feature sets.

The S9 will have more durable glass front and back, higher quality ports, better OLED screen, better touch and fingerprint accuracy, higher quality (albeit often aged) battery, features like DEX dock and somewhat decent use as a VR headset video consumption with their relatively inexpensive headset, etc.

I mean, these budget ones omit even some of the most basic features that the S9 has like wireless charging. And you can always get a S9 battery replacement kit for $40.

I did personally learn this is true. China's government doesn't listen to complaints from the US by and large, at least not from individuals, and they are immune from any recourse save for damage to their brand's reputation. Sadly, brand reputation for most of these companies doesn't mean much to them, as if it gets too bad they just invent a new brand name for their products in the target country and as long as the prices are cheap, which they generally are, consumers will jump on it anyway.
