I think this is a good price. This is for a pair of adjustable dumbbells, not just one. shipping is free. Good reviews too.

50lbs each would be a better buy for you. 25lbs each is not very much. If you lifted a few times a week routinely… these wouldn't be enough for you after 2 months (curls, shoulder press, bench, etc). 50lbs each would cover you for a good while and be a more versatile set overall.
Got this in-store for $150 this morning. Should've checked Slickdeals first.

Played with it a little, plates are metal and not encased by plastic. No plates stuck to the holder like other brands might and switching is way simpler than powerblocks or even bowflex. I also have the selecttech 552 but these should work great for the girlfriend.
I bought these and then canceled. The reviews are all incentivized except one. I went to the CAP website which is still under construction and the warranty seems to be 30 days which is not acceptable when paying this much (in contrast Bowflex while more expensive is 2 years). My research seems to indicate CAP customer service isn't great either.

Biggest complaint I have about these is the barbell steel is pretty uncomfortable. I don't know a ton about dumbbells and weight lifting (I'm just a casual), but these types of dumbbells tend to rip up my hands. I'm not serious enough about weight lifting to bother buying lifting gloves, but other adjustables (ie Bowflex, powerblocks, etc) feel way better on the hands. Something about the rubber coating or whatever materials the other guys use make it more comfortable and prevents slipping.

Debating on these also for the wife. I have set of 552 also along with set of Powerblocks. Just ordered some Core Fitness to replace my powerblocks, I may Craigslist them.
The Bowflex eventually break because the weight holding mechanism is plastic. I've repaired mine with new disc from eBay atleast 3 times over the past 7 years.
The CAP's look exacty like the flybirds: https://www.amazon.com/FLYBIRD-Ad...088WS6QRD/

The flybird seem to have overall good reviews. Really has me debating on pulling the trigger on the CAP. 90 return is nice also.

Non exercising small dude here. Is 25 lb gonna be enough? I'm not looking to get huge, but it'd be nice to stop getting beat up by my wife and kids

lol getting huge is what a lot of guys aim for and don't get there after years of lifting much more than 25. you'll be okay

It's there a pair set that goes up to 35 lbs or 45 lbs that around $150 price range?

Or is the cap expandable?

Absolutely not. Small dude with the hands of a baby here, and even for bicep curls you're going probably going to hit the limit fairly soon. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't actually lift for muscle gain (if at all).

If you're going to get adjustable/loadable dumbbells as your primary lifting tool, go for 90lbs per dumbbell or higher. Maybe 50lbs if you're not sure how serious you'll be and they're DEEPLY discounted.

I use bodyweight, focus on flexibility/plyometrics, and these are the PERFECT complement to make those routines more difficult
