This isn't new, but you have to read the comments of other deals to find it - to me, the whole point of Slickdeals is to make crystal clear how to score a really great price. Slickdealer Riiot was the first to comment on this in the existing WD 850 deal post. If this info has value to you, give Riiot, not me, credit - click on following link, click on Riiot's name to the left, give reputation.

Take an old storage device you don't care about to Best Buy, use the recycling offer (second link) to get 15% off on the WD SN850 when you pick it up. The SN850 is already on Black Friday offer for $150 to that takes the price down to $127.50 plus tax. Folks have been successful turning in old thumbdrives, but you could take in an old broken 2.5 or 3.5 HDD, etc.

This isn't for everyone - it's for those who really need/want a great deal.

Warning, Best Buy's process for this is reportedly really slow, many stores don't seem to know about it and will seek to deflect, to avoid, etc. Take in a copy of the recycling offer or have it ready to show them on your phone, etc. You will need to be persistent and it will be time consuming. But the prize is a 1TB top-of-the-line NVME SSD for $127.50 (plus tax), which, yes, does work for PS5.

You can do this with other WD/SanDisk SSDs, a couple sample links below.

Folks... FFS stop paying over $100 a TB already. Good lord.
Would you be so kind to enlighten us as to where one may buy a 4th gen SSD that works with PS5 at under $100 a TB?

We are all on needles waiting for your response.

OP you're the best! I just recycled a 16 GB microsd and Sd adapter and got the 15% off! They didn't have it in store so they had it shipped to me! A very slick deal! Too slippery!!

If he does it's definitely not Seagate/WD/Samsung. The only viable brands to use

Not quite $100, but close:

I did this deal on my own over the weekend. Associate had to get the manager, but he was very well versed and it went very smooth.

They did not have the WD 1TB M.2 in stock (I knew this already before heading to the store) but was able to recycle, get coupon, and order at store to be shipped and delivered to my house.

For Bestbuy card holders - you will also get a 5 reward coupon for the purchase! I plan to go back today to try for another. This will be my 5th WD SN 850 for $136 after tax.

FYI: Recycle page says ANY STORAGE Device - they accepted an old 128MB USB Flash Drive!
Still waiting on someone to walk in a cassette player from a Radio Shack TRS 80 Model I... :-)

I knew it. But when it comes to SSDs, brands DO matter for your consoles longevity. Trying to get a cheaper off brand SSD only hurts yourself in the end

I recycled a old 100GB hdd. The csr took some time to figure how to give me the 15% off coupon. He then offered me a $25 BB gift card. The ssd was not in stock so he ordered one online and shipped to my home. Final price was after GC and tax was $130.11

Your mileage may vary, but to me there seems to be a lot of misbehavior even among the so-called "best brands" in SSD world. Western Digital, for instance, shifted the SN550 from TLC to QLC without being as open about it as it should have, is my understanding.

Whereas say what you will about Inland but the Performance drive is warranted for six years, which seems to be one more year than standard. It appears they're willing to stand behind their product.

This is a complete hassle and I'm not sure if it's worth all that trouble. Someone else told me that you can bring a microsd card and still get the coupon... this is not true. Also, the people in the store don't know about this coupon so it's going to be a lot of waiting. I decided that it's not worth my time to go through all this hassle for $30.
Kind of true! wait in line in customer service for over an hour. I did got a coupon via a old 80GB WD mechanic driver. Then try to find a SN850, but they did not have it on stock at that stock. Even though my time is worth nothing, but exposed in the Covid-19 atmosphere for over a hour is total unnecessary risk!

I recycled an old 950 m.2 and got my 15 % off coupon. I tried using it a WD-black 2tb ssd with heatsink but coupon did not apply. Called customer service and there were of NO help and couldn't tell me why the coupon wouldn't apply. After seeing my frustration on the phone, the store manager was nice enough to apply the coupon to my item! Please ask the store what their exclusions are before you go to the store!

It took some explanation of basic math skills but I was finally able to grab the last 1TB SN850 from 65203 @ $127.49 + tax. The issue that the manager kept running into is that the drive in store was marked as $149.99 but was ringing up at $159.99 and the 15% coupon was reverting the price to $159.99. The manager was convinced that 15% off $149.99 was $135.99 and not $127.49. After showing them how a calculator and multiplication works they agreed that it should be $127.49 + tax. Had to apply the coupon to the $159.99 price and then mark down the price to $127.49 (or at least that's how they addressed it).
