Well worth 50% extra cost? Lol, nope.
I'm thinking about upgrading from a 2017 65" Vizio m series, but wasn't sure if it would be a noticeable difference in picture

Extended warranties are pretty cheap these days. Even with a 5yr upsie warranty it's still way cheaper than a c1 or any other OLED.
The bigger concern is company's willingness to stay up to date with software and features.
That's my take at least.
Amazon's listing shows 10% but upon checkout using Amazon card it only shows 5%. Any insight into why?
If I remember last time they did this, you'd see the other 5% as the normal cash back with chase.
I have a LG OLED and I compared these two side by side, playing the same content on both.
While not as good as the OLED, I was pleasantly surprised by how good U8G is.
In many areas U8G is comparable to the OLED. Of course OLED scored better when it comes to the black level (The black levels are not too shabby on U8G).
In fact, the brightness is better on U8G.
For many, the difference in the PQ will not be worth the extra $$.
This TV for sure is a keeper.
Remember, the 65" U8G is slightly better than the 55" version as 65" has more local dimming zones
