I was wondering how much the handles weight. So took a look at the Q&A section. After reading this first question I decided that metal would be a better choice for weights.

Question: What is the material of the handles?
Answer: Plastic. One has developed a crack. More importantly, the plates leak fine silica sand. Use them outside. Duct tape works. I still use them. I am so glad to have SOMEthing, ANYthing.

I got the cap 40 pounds vinyl dumbbell set from Walmart for 18.. but the regular price is 27.72.. still way cheaper.. and it doesn't leak.. If this leaks, the quality must be really bad.. because I am sure most of the vinyl dumbbells have multiple layers.. before you see the sand

Hard pass. Walmart has something extremely similar for this for $22 on the regular.
