(i have zero insider knowledge) but my guess is it probably related to them having excess copies of something that were returned from retailers or just general overproduction. it is a win-win for DMI members and Disney since DMI members are thankful for the reward and Disney builds goodwill while reducing inventory that would otherwise go unsold and to waste (or worse.. into a landfill)
