Yes, you can upgrade. Rather easily (I used Macrium). No, I did not see another slot.
Also, you can upgrade the Wifi Card to an AX card easily for about $12. The installed card is NOT WiFi6.

Good deal but just so everyone knows, recent Lenovo laptops are having touchpad freezing issues. It's massive. I went through long process to get e new unit and same issue. So returned it and got a Dell. There should be a lawsuit over it. Google the issue before u buy

I had picked this up for $430 during Black Friday for family. Need to return it due to cancelled travel plans. If anyone in Seattle area wants it at cost, I am happy to help a fellow SDer rather than returning it to BB.

Not sure if same hinge, but yeah, they have an issue. I had the model listed in the below linked forum. It wasn't abused, only gently opened/closed few times daily. Happened at 14 months (2 months after 12 month warranty ended). Cost me $200 at bestbuy to have repaired then had to fight Lenovo for reimbursement of repair charges. Ended up submitting a BBB complaint & Lenovo immediately sent me the $200. Sad thing is I really like this line of inexpensive/lightweight Lenovo laptops. But buyer beware

How is this compared to the target deal for those would upgrade ram and ssd? Easier to just buy this for a bit more?

I would say its worth it, but of course it will depend on your network setup just keep in mind that both ends needs to be able to support wifi 6 in order to make the most out of it.

You can upgrade the laptop to wifi 6 but if your network equipment is still running wifi 5 it will still be connected at wifi 5 speeds and you don't get the benefits of the newer technology to help with congestion and interference etc.

on the flip side you can always just upgrade it now to help future-proof the laptop for when your network setup does end up going to wifi 6

I got one in November, and it came with an Intel WiFi 5 network card. AC-9560 model, which is a CNVi card.
Mine also had Windows 11 preinstalled, instead of Windows 10 like the ad stated back then.
There must be some variations out there.

During this BF, we bought 2 15" laptops for 2 kids' Xmas presents. This Lenovo one and HP (https://slickdeals.net/f/15445516-hp-15z-ef2000-laptop-15-6-fhd-ips-ryzen-5-5500u-8gb-ddr4-256gb-ssd-369-free-shipping).

Spent 2 hours each to update OS and remove some bloatware. Overall, imo, the build quality of Lenovo feels more solid than HP's.

How bad is the hinge issue? Do ALL break all the time regardless of how you use it or just from rough handling?
