I have the 6qt one and it's been amazing to us the last 2-3 years. I wanted a bigger one when I make soups, especially dishes like Pho for my Vietnamese Food loving foodies. The only criticism I have is that the air fryer lid is a pain to clean.

Just want to throw out there that I have one of these that I've had for a couple years and it's been a real champion for us. Air frying is a bit different than on a square air fryer but imo it actually does a much better job of actually crisping than my ninja foodi counter top flip up oven, which has an awkward space. The biggest difference for us is that you can really crisp up things like a whole chicken or other cuts of meat that aren't just flat and small. Only qualm I have is that if I try to air crisp two racks of chicken drums or wings the top ones are always crisp before the bottom ones, but that is easily solved by taking them out and letting the others crisp for only a couple more minutes. A small inconvenience. At this price I am thinking of buying another. Again, this is all just my experience and opinion but hopefully it can help someone.

This is an amazing price for one. We have had a very similar model for several years now and it is still our go to unit for air frying. While the round is a bit awkward to load up, the quality of the crisp is really great compared to the countertop front door type units. I just dont think you can get the same kind of even air flow with them

For $100 it is a no brainer to buy. I bought another one to put away for if/when I need another one or give it to one of my kids.

We got the 401 on the second order but decided to keep the 405. Better accessories and the airfry lid has the metal grid unlike 401. Function wise, 405 is only missing sousvide and reheat. FYI.

Actually glad we got the 405 or we never know the difference.

Wow I'm dumb I just assumed I got the correct thing. Turns out I got the OS405 with 1 display instead of 2 displays

Already got rid of the box though Frown

Oh well, maybe can yell at Walmart to get some kind of discount

EDIT: Yea got a 10% refund. big woop

Oh well I don't think I'd use the other 2 functions, and the hassle of returning and exchanging this big ass thing sounds awful lol. Plus I'd already discarded the actual box so the logistics were annoying.

I got the OS405, outer box said OS401. Shipping came in 3 days.

Complained to Walmart that I wanted the 12 functions, not 10, and they gave me 20% discount.

Decided to keep the 405 after all. I didn't realize until afterwards that it came with more accessories - I actually love the crisper bucket and additional 2 story rack that comes with it.

My replacement just came and it's right one. But from the comments it sounds like the 405 is the one to keep. Don't need the sousvide if it sucks.

Also, why do some prefer having an actual basket? Because it seems without the basket you get about an inch more room by using the pot as the basket.

3rd time was the charm. Finally got my 401 which I wanted for the extra sous vide function. Complained about getting the wrong item twice so they gave me a $15 off code towards this one. Extra slick!

Just wondering... is it important to have the grid on the air fryer lid? I see the newer model OL601 and OL701 also have no grid. I also watched a YouTube video about cleaning. It's hard to clean with the grid. Is there any benefit having the grid?

I'm thinking replacing the non-stick pot with stainless steel and the non-stick basket/plate with a mesh stainless steel basket. Has anyone done that?

Glad this thread popped back up for me because it explains a lot. I thought that I had gotten a refurbished model until this thread explained the situation.

We have the Ninja Compact 6.5 and ordered this one as an upgrade. We were exited to get it in 2 days but upon opening the boxes it looked like the crisping lid, without the grate, was missing, and there were no accessories. I did not pay any attention to the features, just boxed it up and sent it back for a return. It took about 2 weeks to get the replacement. Upon opening it we thought we had the correct one since it had the metal grate for the cooking lid and the accessories. I guess I initially received the 401, sent it back, and received the 405 as the replacement.

I think we will keep the 405 and be happy with it, especially for the price.

The basket allows hot air to flow around the contents, crisping it up from all sides. You won't get that if you just lay stuff in the bottom of the pot.
