I did buy Fold 3 couple months ago and I ended up selling it and I get the ultra instead.
1- the phone is too narrow when it's folded so you have to unfold it for better experience.
2- as a someone who uses social media apps it's not easy to pull out your phone and take snapchat or instagram pic right a way.
3- almost all cases with Spen are bulk and huge so I ended up leaving the SPen which is really not good.
4- watching youtube videos not great because of the Screen ratio. Basically it's even smaller than regular phones.
5- battery is really bad, Will die before the end of the day.
6- some apps look bad even if you adjust resolution and the screen ratio, for example Facebook app looks really ugly.

With all that being said I still recommend this phone if you don't mind those issues this ua really a good price.

Since no one has answered definitively,

I called T-Mobile, and canceled within 24 hours. Just said I was trying out T-Mobile and unfortunately don't have good enough coverage.

I will get a bill, prorated, but it will be in 30 days.

I do not believe T-mobile has activation fee.
Only monthly service fee and SIM card fee and "customer service" fee if done at the T-mobile store. As far as I know, there is not even "device upgrade fee" that other companies appear to have.

Picked up my unlocked verizon account one now. Chatting away with verizon to cancel account, they wanted the charge full one month + $35 one time charge to cancel on the next monthly bill cycle. Asking to disconnect asap and that I just got the phone and sim card. They are looking into it. Wish me luck.

edit. they just confirmed I will only get charged for the $35 fee and they will cancel tonight. wish I could stay on longer and fight for that but spent too much already. good luck people.
So what's your goal here? Are you going to go to prepaid with it?

The street price is around what you bought it for at Best Buy.

Using my tmobile plan and selling my note 20 ultra. Online ordering never worked for tmobile for few days like others talked about so ordered using verizon. Stores were sold out in 512GB unlocked z fold3 around my area and did not wanted to wait.

I also called Tmobile to cancel the service on the first day. And the customer service rep just cancelled it right away, and she said no chargers if it's less than a day.

This phone is meh. The z flip 3 they mastered. Now they have to fix the issues with this phone for it to be a viable phone and not gimmicky. I'll stick with my note 20 ultra till the next one to see if they improve the front screen. I really like it and was going to trade in my ultra but after playing around with it, I decided to hold out.

I just picked up the phone today and I'm typing on the fold 3 right now. I've been an iPhone user since iPhone 2, and my last iPhone was 11 pro max which I am going to give it to my parents. Let me say this, this phone is big, the screen is really really big. I am still trying to adjust typing on this massive screen. I'm very happy with the phone because a big screen is all I wanted. I know it's awkward to use sometimes, but if you want a big screen phone, this is probably your best choice. 👌 I'm loving it so far.

I haven't seen much about this phone, has it been good enough to replace anything like Note 10? I am thinking typing when it's opened might be easier? It really looks like you are carrying 2 phones, right?
I'm keeping my Note 10+ as it has a sd card slot, and I just bought a 1TB card for it as I take tons of videos and don't want to pay for cloud storage or constantly have to backup and delete videos. Unfortunately, none of the new Samsung flagship phones have sd card slots.

$1K is still a lot for a phone, imho. The only reason that it is a "deal" is due to absurd MSRP, but most of us would never pay $2K (with tax) for a phone, and even $1100 or so with tax is a bit crazy.

I have tried many phones (Fold 3, pixel 6, LG velvet) and went back to my 2 years old Note 10+.
