Very good mic. Check out Bandrew reviews in his Podcastage channel on YouTube for his review. This is about the best USB mic you can buy and this is 1/2 the price from a year ago. PS…they don't make this model anymore. The new one is USB-C and isn't quite as high quality as this old school mini USB version. I've used it for Zoom stuff mostly, and you could very well podcast with this. It is upgradable to pro cables if you go heavy into podcasting at some point.

Note: You have to keep this mic very close to your mouth to have it pick up your voice so If you're not accustomed to it there will be a learning curve. Also, the mic must be in the camera frame to sound good on Zoom, so consider if you are willing to make that trade off to sound super crisp to the 5% of your coworkers who will notice the difference 🤷

I'd say to opt for some true, non USB XLR microphones, amps and stuff. Software wise honestly you can start with audacity for recording your voice. Like at least to get an idea and stuff.

these are high quality mics, I use it to create the occasional voice over videos on YT. I cant stand micro so I have the 2010 version, got for only slightly more than this during sales. The quality gets you in the vicinity of higher end mics, if you're willing to put in a little post work.

Late reply I know, but just wanted to chime in and say I was surprised to discover that this bundle included a mini-USB to USB-C for the microphone. Obviously there is still a real benefit to getting the newer ATR2100x so don't have to worry about finding a special cable when you need it but just wanted to let you know this one does include everything you need in the box to use with a USB-C device like a laptop, tablet, or phone.

AT2030 or higher IMHO with a Scarlett solo. Condenser microphones are much better. I would also suggest one of those isolation covers that goes around it to block out other noise
