just an alternative viewpoint here. I have tried multiple IPS and VA. If you game in the dark, black levels on IPS are not good. I have this monitor and am very pleased with it. I have a Viewsonic Elite 240hz IPS that is now a side monitor because I hate the black levels on it so much.
VA panel, most don't like them.

Make your own decision.

This is a really good read. One post convinces you to go VA; the next convinces you to go IPS. So it appears to come down to which post you read last.

I've owned multiple VA panel monitors as well as an IPS monitor and to be honest, they are all fine. VA has really good contrast and I've been happy with them. I think it really comes down to personal preference and you have to use both to be able to make real decision.

VA vs IPS is over hyped. Check the Hisense U7G threat were people were returning their 75 because it was IPS and they wanted VA like the 65.. monitors the exact opposite, people want the IPS and not the VA. 😂😂. I bought the Costco version and returned this one last month. Happy with my purchase. Also ran the 850 (IPS version) side by side for a few weeks and returned it too. The difference in the IPS/850 is real subtle.

Note that these are the model with AMD FreeSync, not NVIDIA G-Sync as the Costco/BB model.

That being said, they do work with G-Sync as rmm64 stated. I have had this monitor since April of 2020, and I've used it with a 1060 and now a 3060Ti, and the variable refresh rate/G-Sync works well.

I'm a big fan of this monitor, to be honest. Good bang for the buck, and especially at this price.

Another plus is being able to fit two documents side by side on the screen. The software LG offers for dividing your screen into multiple zones looks kind of goofy, but works pretty well and isn't a resource hog like OEM apps sometimes are.

It's a good deal under 300 but it has some quirks. The left and right edges have this weird fade effect because the backlight panel is like a cm behind the image panel. Black to grey response time is atrocious (scrolling black text on a grey background). Ghost is an inch long. No setting will fix it.

Still good for gaming though.

affordable ips 144hz or higher 1ms 32-34 inch gaming monitors is just around the corner as the old stock of non hdmi 2.1 compliant monitors will begin to become worthless.

be patient and you should be able to find a 32-34 inch ips 144hz or above 1ms gaming monitor for $300+-

the one i have currently was $800 and I'm confident this time next year it will be less than 1/2 of that.
You can already get the Gigabyte M32Q for less than $400. It was as low as $360 a couple of weeks ago.

My only real issue with VA is that text looks jagged to me. It's fine for gaming but fire up Excel and it's so noticeable and no Clear Type changes help.

The problem going forward is that they are "retiring" the HDMI 2.0 name. So now everything will be HDMI 2.1 even if it doesn't have VRR, 48Gbps etc. They become "optional." People are going to have to dig into the spec sheets to make sure they are getting real 2.1.

Good info. Thank you.
I'm going to be building an arcade console and wanted a 32" screen. Would this monitor be good for that?

Would you buy the LG Ultragerar 27" IPS over this?

That is not a feeling. You are delusional and should question your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

They seriously hide this info and it's a key spec!

350 is more than fine. Have you compared them to whatever nit you find acceptable and can you share your findings. I have screens ranging from 250 to 400 and they are all fine and in fact get turned down due to brightness.

Incorrect. the LG 32GN650-B model IS G-Sync compatible. It's even listed as such on the BB website [bestbuy.com] (same model# as listed here.) They work perfectly with my Nvidia G-Sync. The Costco LG monitor is a different model number (32GN63T-B [costco.com].) I was considering that one at first, but read several reviews about an odd 3D/layered problem along the bottom edges/corners, so I decided to pass on that one. Plus, the GN650-B has a few additional features that one doesn't have, which was worth the small extra cost to me (and ended up costing exactly the same as Costco had their model on sale for anyway.)
