After getting it for free the last couple of years, that link only shows $20 off. Bummer!
UPDATE: Nvm! I see it on the summary page after refreshing a couple of times.
How to download instead of online version?
UPDATE: Figured out how to download. After logging in, I reopened the Fidelity link, on the top menu goto file your taxes, cd/download, compare products, and the premier should be $0. Had to try this several times but finally got the download version.
Ah bummer, I don't see it anywhere in my account. Only the $20 offer.
I would think most people with a $500,000 minimum portfolio aren't going to use Turbo Tax for their taxes.
Isn't Fidelity high in fees? I remember talking to them and they seemed on the very high end. Can't remember specifics. Was recommended to use an AI fund with really low fees over Fidelity.
iwheela
I just buy vanguard ETFs and a few comparable fidelity ETFs and the fees are tiny.
I think they make money by loaning out your shares or something because they have no transaction fees now unless international.
Ya I think you need 250k in a non retirement account to get this deal. You could just transfer from another brokerage, get the deal and transfer out. It doesn't trigger a stock sale.
But where do you "get" the new download for a different OS?
Easiest method? If you got a *.dmg for Mac or *.exe for Windows, just repeat the method you got the first link from to get the other. Bonus = you'll get another activation code for the other OS, which likely works for either.
I simply added the Windows and Mac to my "cart' during my $0 'checkout' and received an email with licenses + download links for both.
The rubric is a mystery but it seems more likely if you have at least $2M for 2+ years.
That is incorrect. You need to be Private Client Group, which is $1m, or Premium Services which is $500k, but you are more likely to get it at the $1m level. See the info I included at the end of this post.
The OP beat me to creating the thread this year, but I did a much better job of documenting things in the thread I created last year (also spelled the product correctly in the title).
On their site this morning. The offer is for a certain tier of customer, to achieve that tier you need 250k+ in investment accounts. I could have read it wrong but I have accounts and it only offered me $20 off.
They mention requirements. The $250k is if you are an Active Trader Services customer:
Active Trader Services
Trades: 120+ stock, ETF, or option trades in the past 12 months
Portfolio Value: $250,000 or complex trading needs
And here are the requirements from the fine print of that page for free TurboTax:
Certain covered clients: Private Wealth Management (PWM) client and owns one or more nonretirement account(s) or PCG, Premium, and ATS clients with minimum assets of either: PWI assets of $1,000,000 or more and PI assets of at least $500,000 and own one or more nonretirement account or Nonretirement assets $1,000,000 or more. Applies to Federal returns and one state return only. Cost of additional state returns are the responsibility of the client.
Definitions:
PWI = Personal & Workplace Investments (aka 401k/pension/ESPP/etc.)
PI = Personal Investments (individual, joint, IRA, Roth IRA, etc. accounts)
I don't have anywhere close to $250K in a non-retirement account, but I was able to get this deal. Maybe I've made enough trades to trigger some threshold.
So if you were going to get Premier then the $20 off seems to be only $15 off which means for most fidelity customers who dont meet the free threshold right now Amazon or Costco is substantially cheaper (69.99 vs 84.99). Only a deal for the free one.

Not my case I got TurboTax® Premier free
I don't have 1M or 250K in my Fidelity account just an IRA rollover and I only trade a few times a month in this account and most are free trade
(My main trading accounts are all in TD Ameritrade and they has earn a lot more commission from me there)
My wife Fidelity account is over 250K but she only got $20 off
The only thing I can think of is I opened a cash account recently because they have a $100 Bonus offer when you deposit $50 to the account

I just talked to Fidelity rep, requirements are-
requirements are 120+ trades in a calendar year, or an account with over $1M in assets.
Probably should be put in the OP
Either I got it by mistake or he/she is BS'ing, My wife account certainly should qualified for 120 trades but not in my case I did maybe 100 trades in this account so far
