I have had these plugs connected to homekit controlling my Christmas stuff for about 3 weeks and I have had no issues connected to a SSID that has does both 2.4 and 5ghz.

I've been using kasa products about 4 years now with no issue. Wall switches, mini plugs, power strip, outdoor plugs. It would be strange not to yell at the house to turn stuff on an off at this point. Never had any setup problems, just added two more plugs this week, took less than 5 mins.

Tempted to get more just to have extras on hand...

For those with Costco membership, they have the Feit brand 3 pack for $20 right now. Looks available online as well.

Kasa plugs don't play well w/ smart connect combining 2.4 and 5ghz - works well w/ dedicated 2.4 ghz

These are a PAIN to get working.

For Eero users, turn off 5ghz, WPA3, and optimize for conference and gaming. That's the only thing that made them hook up.

But as soon as you turn WPA3 back on, they go offline. This is probably an issue with the eero more than the plugs. Just something to keep in mind.

If you think these are a pain, steer clear of WeMo

That's just crappy networking equipment that can't band steer properly.

I have no issues with 2.4 or 5ghz devices connected to a single SSID. The kasa devices work fantastically for me.
