I debated between this and the costco one, but for $100 more, I'm getting the newer model with better specs. If you're on a tighter budget, costco model works just fine.

This is not the newer model. H6 is still the old one M51a-H6 and M512a-H6 were released early this year. The newer versions of these are called J6.
Also
M51a does not have the 2 upward firing speakers on the sound bar that M512a has.

I have the Vizio 312gw I think is the model. It too is an atmos soundbar and subwoofer sans the satellite speakers. I love the sound but man vizio's software is very unreliable. It sometimes turns on and I have to turn it off and on until the sound works. The Bluetooth connection is very unstable. Otherwise it's great but will say the atmos aspect is hardly noticeable if at all. I don't have high ceilings and should be the perfect scenario for it and it doesn't really do too much. Otherwise am happy but would honestly not buy another one if given the choice.

Doesn't this one have the dedicated up firing speakers? If so, shouldn't it be called a 5.1.4 or something like that? Maybe I'm just not straight on the numbering.

When I said newer model, I meant it was released this year, compared to M51a-H6 which was released last year. I'm aware the J6 is the newer version of 51a-6, rtings review quotes this right at the top.
