I'm never buying Vizio again. I have been through 2 Vizio TVs and 2 Vizio sound bars. Quality is terrible. Something always stops working. I have had to reset both sound bars all the time to get sound to work. It gets "stuck" all the time.

Negative. I own 3 Atmos systems, including one with 4 Kef in-ceiling Atmos speakers and dedicated amp, dual sub, you get the idea, not just sound-bar systems. All 3 systems run beyond 20k. I also have close to 100 x 4k Blu-ray disks with many Atmos movies in my collection.

The in-ceiling system delivers true height to the stage, that no Atmos system with up-firing speakers can emulate, not even close to, and not even with a low and flat ceiling. This is not just my experience, it is the general census in pro reviews and feedback you can read on the AVS Forum etc.

I just went through your comments. You don't even own a proper in-ceiling Atmos system, so you don't know the difference.

I own the larger Vizio set with up firing Atmos speakers front and rear as well as the M51A set. I can't make out the Atmos effect bouncing off the ceiling. I think this system only really works with dedicated Atmos speakers build into the ceiling, and that's on another level altogether. I like the M51A and for 250 bucks this is a steal. It also tucks under the TV while the Atmos sets need to sit in-front of the TV.

Is this one worth 100 bucks more than the M51 for the extra two speakers?

Lots of bang for your buck on this one. Rtings had good things to say about it for the under $500 range: https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/r...s-m512a-h6

I was looking at this online last night weirdly enough. My Sony HT-Z9F has become a glitchy, unreliable mess to the point where I'm tempted to replace it with one of these.

I've had this for about 9 months now, but I bought it for $299.99 new from BB had them price match Amazon at the time.

This is a really great system for the price, just make sure to update the firmware if it isn't already. (Call Vizio and they will send you a free USB stick with an update)

I've had this hooked up to 2 different 📺 📺
A 65u8g
75QN85A and it sounds and works great.

The atmosphere however is hard to differentiate and unfortunately you really need dedicated ceiling speakers to achieve atmos.

Picked this up before the holidays for $399 and have been really happy. You should be aware that you can get some audio delay if you're running devices through your TV and then out to the soundbar (direct passthrough setting helped, but it's still noticeable with my Hisense UG8 when wired this way).

It could be annoying for someone who likes to use multiple devices like an AppleTV and a gaming console. The soundbar does have a direct HDMI IN, but only one so you'd have to manually swap if a slight audio delay sounds like a pea under your mattress.

When it's in music mode how do the rears behave? My last vizio system in music mode would either play no audio (stereo only from the bar) or would do a virtualized "vocals removed" version in the rear satellites while the soundbar played the full mix. I know Samsung's and JBL's music modes just play stereo through the front soundbar and the rears at the same time.

Is there a way to fix this audio delay? My older vizio soundbar 4051 is starting to go out on me (subwoofer making popping sounds and audio cutting out at beginning of words) and I have been looking at new soundbars. I bought the Logitech Z906 5.1 but I noticed there was an audio delay with the 5.1.

and it seems like soundbars also suffer from the audio delay. Is there a fix for this?

I am also thinking of buying a receiver and bookshelf speakers since I heard the audio delay will go away if you plug the xbox/apple tv to the receiver.

Is the issue where the unit will be dead (no power) consistently beginning 9-12 months fixed yet? I bought one but return it unopened after reading almost everybody has this issue...
