I got this for my teen daughter at Costco last year for $99.99. It has held up to a year of regular use, and she's been very happy with it. The lowest volume setting it not quite as low as I'd like it to be, but there's the headphones option if low is still too loud (like when the younger kids are in bed). Definitely worth the $49 listed here.

I have a console digital piano but I teach my kids with both. A real artist can learn from anything. I'm not great but more beginner-intermediate. I teach my kids to enjoy performing socially. Don't need them to be experts. I grew up when music was esoteric but I prefer it mainstream with access to all. Music and piano has so much benefits for the brain regardless of stage.
The nice thing about keyboard for 4-7 year old is not weighted on keys. They don't have the strength in their fingers and can theoretically bend their digits if they hit sideways on a console piano. Keyboard is light so my kid can focus on reading music sheet and rhythm.
I practice on keyboards too and like certain things bout it. But in this day and age I like pianos to connect to computer. Downside of this keyboard is no usb midi. U may be able to do it with pc but probably not without audio interface. And right cable to remove the excess amp or whatever closed loop electronic circuitry that need to be avoided.
Your comment on weighted keys is very inaccurate. Even my 3 yr old can push the keys perfectly fine. Practicing on weighted keys are the way to learn. Kids that did not learn/practice on weighted keys dont play at the same level as ones that did.
So it says there still full price at my walmart so my friend ordered one coming on Dec 28th. I went into the store and there where 2 when I scanned them they where $49. While the web page still said there was none in stock.
I ran across one while shopping and picked it up. Took to the register and it rang up 109. Scanned with the walmart app and it showed 49. Manager would not honor the deal. Said it had to be ordered online.
Anyone know of the warranty will replace defective devices? Bought this keyboard for Christmas at the end of Dec. It was used for 2 months (barely) and the left speaker already has a terrible static sound coming out of it. I submitted a warranty request at https://www.alesis.com/support let's see if it works.
I bought this originally a few months ago when it was first on sale for $50.
I cant believe how much this product is for this price. My 3 kids are now all wanting piano lessons.
I just ordered a 2nd.
I actually have a really nice Casio keyboard with 88 weighted keys (I forget the model) that was like $500, its stored under the bed and I dare not take it out due to the kids potentially killing it. (bought it before having kids) I actually had one of my kids knock over and shatter a samsung plasma tv, so yea. BTW dont even plug in the mic if you have kids lol.
Of course this piano/keyboard does not have weighted keys but they have a surprisingly good feel/spring, especially at this price point.

I agree with this comment. A "real" piano is the way to learn, but I dont have/cant afford this atm.
