So for AT&T users we could just have the unlocked phone shipped to home then upon receipt of the phone we could just call AT&T and cancel the new line with some excuse and basically just put our current sim into the new phone then?
I have never tried this and in theory, it *should* work. The device will work on another carrier, just not sure what cancelling with AT&T will be like immediately after purchasing this phone with them.

I'm tempted to trade in my note 10 for an S21 for essentially free by activating a new t mobile line, then cancel the line shortly afterwards. There are so many vague stipulations in the fine print though that you won't really know what's involved until (CAREFULLY) reading through whatever agreement they give you at the store.

The fine print on the OPs link says everything from their ability to just deny this offer altogether, to requiring a minimum service contact length, and worryingly "Savings are deducted off the full total price of the phone and are reflected in either instant savings or in vendor bill credits, both of which will result in reduced monthly payments for the term of the agreement on your carrier account. Bill credits will be applied within 1–2 billing cycles and will end when the balance is paid, or the line is terminated or transferred." That means you might have to pay the full price up front anyway, and then maintain service in order to get the bill credits.

Potentially this could be an awesome deal, but there's no way to know without talking to their phone sales people in person, which to me sounds like this a ploy to get you talking to a salesperson to upsell you or trap you in a contact from a deal that may not even be available for you in the first place. And the fact that you're turning over a valuable phone as a trade in puts you in a bad spot if you find any unpleasant surprises after making the deal.

Edit: don't forget, if you're in a state with sales tax, you have to pay the tax amount for the full retail price if the phone, regardless of whatever the final total is after all these discounts

When they "evaluate" my phone at the store, they don't clear anything, right?

Did they handle transferring the files/pictures/contracts etc to the new phone?

Some higher trade-in values with TMO promo (discussed in thisthread, e.g. iPhone XR = $420 vs $300, though not sure it's still active) but others look higher, e.g. Pixel 3XL = $200. Haven't seen that high anywhere else for my old Pixel.
Thanks for posting!
S20+ was $675 if TMO is chosen. Upgraded to an S21 Ultra 120gb for $181.

I would do those transfers at home. I just hand them my trade in and get the new phone, and go.

Damn need at least the 512GB version. The 256GB version is $849 and is a no-brainer $50 price increase for much more usable space for non-upgradeable storage phone for those looking to get the S21 Ultra.
The 512 has been sold out for nearly 2 months. I've tried over and over to get it.

S22 ultra is coming February 8th so you should start seeing deals like this. I was set in this photo until I heard the s22 news. I'm waiting for that, supposedly it's going to be even better than the s21

Sometimes retailers offer bonkers trade in values for phones with cracked screens. I don't see anything about those on the link provided. Does anyone know if Best Buy is offering enhanced values for cracked devices as well?
Right now it appears that the Google Store is offering an insane $260 for my cracked S20 as a trade in.

Yep, I got the 256 GB version 2-ish weeks ago for the same price at BB

Never mind. This is from the fine print: "Excludes phones that are cracked or that lack power."
