If you checkout through amazon and select the $30 annual basic ring subscription plan you won't have to pay tax. If you checkout on the Ring website or the Ring app you have to pay sales tax. This should work in most states. It's not a lot, but for you penny pinchers out there it's just a fun little loophole lol.

I know a lot of you took advantage of the ring video doorbell sales this past month and are probably nearing the end of your 30 day free trial so this little trick might come in handy.

Will not work with the Ring Protect Plus annual subscription. Ring Protect Basic Plan only.

Change billing address to Delaware/CO/MO,it will not charge tax.

It doesnt matter where your ring is

I live in TX, just got the annual plan for $100 with no tax, after changing to my parents address in CO.

How about the never ending "loading" message and the 3-5 minute delay to load a recently recorded video?

That said, I'm invested in many of their products and grandfathered in to their pro plan. Just irritates me that when I absolutely need it, it doesn't work.
That seems like an issue with your wifi and/or phone connection. I have 9 ring cameras across two properties, and I don't have any issues except for the loading delay. It is expected to get delayed in recently recorded videos because ring can't show something it hasn't finished compressing and uploading.

Likely not a wifi or phone issue. Multiple different phones, multiple different wifi situations, multiple different internet services and different 5g.

Sometimes reloading the app fixes it.

This would be solved by local recording and access.

You're blaming the Ring server for the connection issue and that would mean most people would have the same issue, which we don't. I have a Mesh wifi system and have no issues loading my videos right away. So yes, it could be your home wifi if you're trying to load live videos. Also, local recording will have the same issues if your home router can't handle the bandwidth or the cameras are too far and has latency issues.

But hey, you're fixed on thinking it's not your internet, so no point in wasting any more time with this post. Good luck

And you think no one else has this issue.

It's not a singularity. Googling it shows that there's a shared frustration with the service.

Not trying to personally attack you or trying to argue with you. Just letting others know of a shortcomings of the service experienced by many people so they can make an informed decision for themselves.

yes, I also did research. Here is using your google search

"I did a lot of research on the load time issue as well as tech support calls to see how I can improve load time.
Conclusion: Ring Doorbell devices WiFi antenna design is not really good and therefore the further you are from the router the lower the quality of the connection is ,even if the RSSI is good. Changing channels didn't help. My router is an Orbi (high end ) and my signal at home is 500Mbps. After endless testing - I solved the slow load time issue by placing a wireless access point (Apple Airport express) literally on the other side of the wall of my doorbell. From that moment load times have dropped to about 2 seconds.
Happy now although it's a shame I had to go through so much hardship to get a good, consistent user experience."

"All of my cameras load in 3-4 seconds. As others have said load time has more to do with the quality of your wifi signal, and your ISP speed tier. RSSI only tells you part of the story."

"3-4 at most for me."

Most people on reddit are happy with their ring connection. Obviously, when it comes to network issues, the ones with issues will scream the loudest.

Thank you. I just extended my 1-year trial plan via Costco for the 100/year deal.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I'm a little confused. Does Ring Protect PLUS come with 24/7 professional monitoring? I thought it did and when I subbed, it emailed me about activating my professional monitoring so I went through the whole thing, but looking at Amazon and the Ring website now, it looks like PRO is the only plan that has professional monitoring? Did I do it wrong by subbing to Plus for $100/year?

Additional info: I had originally setup Ring Alarm in May 2021. Maybe that's why I had the ability to get monitoring? https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us...nformation

I have had ring service since last summer and I really enjoyed the first 30 days of free basic membership. Every dime matters so I jumped to get my services back. I was charged a little tax, but it was under $1
