The Shure SM7B? A lot better and for many reasons. Perhaps an overkill if you are asking this question. I own both mics, however both mics are great mics depending your personal use case. A simple use case why the Yeti is better, it has a stand, a mute button, easy to cary, multiple polar patterns, it has an internal amp and does not require an interface. To get the same on the Shure SM7B will make you think twice before buying. But if you are playing an instrument, singing, podcast, voice over, and other high quality recordings I would never use a Yeti.
I know a preamp that can handle input playback, for example the Motu M4 is able to do what you are asking. Although, the Motu M4 does not have USB input to connect this Yeti though. I'm not aware of an USB mic like the Yeti that can make you hear yourself through a headset.
Were you using a Cardioid Polar pattern on your Yeti and set the Gain to 0? I used it for years for conference call, used Monitor speakers in an untreated room and background noise was not a problem for me and the other side of the call. Yet, I still asked multiple times if anyone could hear the lawnmower, dogs barking and kids playing in the background. No issues whatsoever, of course is not perfect but it did job.
Have you tried reducing OBS Gain mic? And approximate to the mic at least 4-6 inches. Also, Noise Canceling can be added as a filter in OBS.
I also use this Logitech H800 wireless headset when I have to work in the office, but I much prefer the Jabra Speak when you don't have to worry about disturbing your desk neighbors. The H800 sometimes gets finicky with its sliding power on/bluetooth/dongle switch.

I bought it when it was $45 and still thought it was a good deal. Sound quality is amazing and it's a USB plugin. I did a lot of research on youtube and was surprised how well it performed. I use it just for Zoom calls...so keep that in mind.
I lived by an airbase and all the jets flying by were in all my calls. Toilet flushing or loud peeing is also caught. Honestly it's not an argument of the yeti picking up, it's ALL condenser mics. This is just what they are designed to do, is to pick up your environment, directional pattern only helps to point to a source. I've owned a yeti, yeti mini, at2020, re20, re320 and an SM7B. I can 100% guarantee dynamic mics are best for untreated rooms.
I don't disagree with your comment, dynamic mics are the way to go, but the cost behind owning a dynamic mic is night and day compared to the Yeti. Since the op is about the yeti there are ways to reduce background noice, of course living close to an airbase you are SOL 😅
Since the Yeti is a compressor mic and they are sensitive then being 2 feet away (not ideal) for voice commands should be fine. Perhaps a Samson mic, a bit more affordable, would have been good enough for what you need. But if you got the Yeti, this is a great mic and you can do many other projects with it, like conferences, podcasting, gaming, etc.
